Yeah, another Michigan loss, 17-10 :(

I'll not make any excuses. Michigan was clearly the stronger team. I give PSU's defense credit for keeping it close to the end, but it's tough for any team's offense to win a game when the first and second string quarterbacks are knocked out. Penn State's lone turnover didn't impact the outcome, so it was pretty clear that Michigan was the stronger team this year, and the Blue and White gave it a good shot.

Toona, PM me the conditions for the surrender of the piss water...err...Miller lite (yech!)

I'm depressed over this loss to be sure, but credit three things for limiting the extent of my depression: First, Flight 19 kicking ass at The Hitching Post, where I watched the game; second, that hilarious bitch-slap brawl between Miami and Florida International - I wonder if, given Miami's lousy season thus far, if that brawl might have cost Larry Coker his job; and third, friends and brew along the way to dampen the disgust at PSU's offense getting shut down.

BTW, Toona, it is ON for next year. This streak has to end sometime...

if Kelly makes that field goal on the first drive.. it's a 3 point loss..

if State played better on the offensive side.. they could have won..

Penn State.. the team that loves to make you cry..
I think this year is the "rebuilding/reloading" year. Most of the starters are first year people and/or underclassmen, so they are taking their lumps. Next year they should have one hell of a team, given they have a good replacement for Tony Hunt. It's shitty for guys like Hunt and Posluzny because they are not going out on a super great year.

The game was much closer than I thought it would be... Which kicks ass, but WTF is up with Kelly??? The field goal situation is completely out of hand in my opinion, I mean come on,its the BIG TEN!!! I think he should go!!! The TV doesn't make it look half as bad as it is when you can see with your own effen eyes how bad the kick actually is/was...I'm pissed

granted yes.. it's a rebuilding year.. and I myself didnt expect anything better than 9-3.. which, I dont believe State will lose anymore this season.. but the loses to Ohio State and Michigan were just heartbreakers.. you know, in a rebuilding year.. i wouldnt expect State to be in so many games that they have lost.. they could have easily pulled off upsets on both OSU and Michigan.. and maybe this is a good sign for next season.. i do feel State will win a National Title before Paterno leaves (by choice, or by death) but it sucks to think.. they arent going to be ranked this season, yet at the same time if 2 or 3 things went the other way.. they could have pulled off a miracle year..

sucks for Posluszny and Hunt, indeed.. but Hunt will have great NFL success I think.. which, whats the deal with Posluszny.. last year somebody interviewed his mother and she said Paul was entering the service after PSU.. now they're sounding like he could somebody's first round draft pick.. he would be a monster in the NFL.. and as much as I am against the current conflicts, I wouldnt hope he decides to serve.. but could you imagine Paul Posluszny charging down a "terrorist" in armor and packin heat? I would kill myself..

Generally a 9-3 rebuilding year with close losses to two of the top teams in the country is VERY good sign for the next season.

I agree about both Posluzny and Hunt. They both have the capability to have nice 8 - 10 year NFL careers.

Worry not, Penn State Nation, no gloating from me. My game observation? Michigan's "D" is the real deal. Wow. I'm already drooling for the Michigan/Ohio State game at season's end. If everything plays out, that will be #1 vs #2, and playing for a spot in the BCS Title game. Wow. PSU, I think, will bounce back and have a respectable season with a bowl game.

And regarding heartbreak, hey, it happens to all of us sometimes. Hell, look at Iowa on Saturday. INDIANA? YOU GOT BEAT BY FREAKING INDIANA??
