Yeah, Notre Dame was clearly the better team. That game should have been closer; Penn State could move the ball against the Irish but made too many mistakes and couldn't finish drives. Hopefully they use next week's game against Youngstown State to tighten up and learn from this loss. They're going to need to be mistake-free if they have any hope of winning in Columbus in two weeks.

I think that game was a prime example of what happens when a team that has a lot of new faces makes mistakes against one that doesn't.
If Penn St. made the plays that they should have made (like dropped interceptions, dropping a snap on field goal) and the refs make the correct call on that "clip", that game is 10-7 Penn St. leading at halftime. But, they didn't and they played like a young team (meaning they have replaced over half their starters from last year, not meaning what class the players are actually in).
I think they'll be ok and still might go 10-2 but, it's more likely an 8-4, 9-3 season for them.
I'm not too worried. They didn't get physically manhandled, they just made stupid mistakes and ND capitalized, like a good team should. The mistakes are correctable, if they were getting manhandled, that's when I would be worried.

If youth knew; if age could.

I'm thinking maybe something like the Gator Bowl. I am probably wrong though but, it's a gut feeling.dtatusko wrote:Motor City Bowl? Haha...
