I have seen (and met) Maynard a few times. Absolutely a great artist,
and he also was very approachable. RIP!

wow i am sorry to hear that. maynard and his band used to come to altoona and do clinics with those of us in the aahs jazz band. he was a great guy and his band were always among some of the friendliest musicians i as a high school student at the time, had ever met. the guy had unbelievable chops. i think i am going to go put birdland on the turntable and drink a cold one in memory. RIP maynard.
Videos destroyed the vitality of rock and roll. Before that, music said, "Listen to me." Now it says, "Look at me."

Rest in peace Maynard.

May your heaven be playing music for an appreciative audience through eternity.

I've been a Maynard fan since high school when I boughr PRIMAL SCREAM, CHAMELEON , and MF HORN II...knew he used to come to Altoona every year...and every year I promised myself I'd catch his show...guess I'm too late now..WOW...double -high C's, great songs & a kick - ass band....I'll mis him.
