Beer

Post by DirtySanchez »

I saw this on another board and it piqued my curiosity.
What is the favored beer of Rockpage? I know that my band is sponsored by Heineken and it's in my top three but my All time Favorite is St.Pauli Girl. Heres my top 5:

1. St Pauli girl
2. Moosehead
3. Heineken
4. Guiness
5. Sam Adams Boston Lager
Wow that was a hard list to make. There are so many good beers.
So beer drinkers whatchya drinkin?

1. Chimay
2. Sierra Nevada (all flavors but I really fancy the Porter)
3. My boyfriends own homebrew
4. Heineken Dark
5. Blue Moon
6. Arrogant Bastard
7. Dogfish Head Raison D'Etre
8. Apricot Ale from Ottos
9. Unibrue Fin du monde

Those are my favorites, but I'm usually stuck with Yeungling in bars around here...this place is a beer wasteland. Thank God for distributors!

The Knickerbocker used to carry some really good brews.
I haven't been there in years though.
Yes, Heineken Is even hard to find in some bars around here.
The Bar also has some variety.

Rolling Rock and Miller Lite are my brews of choice. I drank some really good German beer the other week, but I forget what it was called.

1. Franziskaner (Hefe-Weisse Hell)
2. Guinness
3. Sam Adams Summer Ale
4. Guinness Harp
5. Heineken

None of these beers are available at Co"BRH"s, so I drink Miller Lite.

1. Victory Hop Devil (Pennsylvania proud, hell yeah)
2. Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout
3. Belhaven Scottish Ale (good enough to make you wear a kilt)
4. any Lindemans or other lambic
5. Sam Adams Cherry Wheat

For local brews, I really dig Otto's Firkin and most everything they do. When none of the above are available (99% of the time) it's Rolling Rock and Straub.

Sammy Smith's Oatmeal Stout is more than a beer, it's a meal.

Groeninger
Franziskaner dunkel (dark)
Paulaner
John Smith's
Newcastle

Sadly you can't get Groeninger in the U.S. because they won't put preservatives in it. Pure unfiltered, unpasteurized, unadulterated beer goodness.
... and then the wheel fell off.

Not a huge beer guy, but:

Yuengling Lager -- cheap, available and good icy cold. My Nashville buddies used to force me to bring a case whenever I went there, now they can get it.

Johnstown Brewing Pumpkin Ale -- last fall Sidestep played there, and the long lost G-Funk turned me onto it. It's like a dessert, they serve it with ginger on the foamhead. Tasty.

Heineken -- must be numbingly cold. Rock stars used to drink it, it must be good.

Schlitz Malt Liquor Stout -- not for the taste, though, for the sheer magnum knockdown power. I drank 3 once and passed out for 2 hours. There must be GHB in it.

Home -- no, not home-brewed, it was a brand many years ago in New Jersey... they did limited runs of it per year at a local Jersey brewery, and the locals snap it up... or so I was told. I was a teen, it was warm as piss, but it still was very smooth and malty, with no alcohol bite... very easy to drink... my favorite beer ever. Perhaps it was being a teenage boy away from his parents in the big city that made it taste so good. That always helps.----------->JMS
