Man, I'm just sticking up for my team. Of course I know its a game, but sometimes it's easy to get fired up after downing a few. I know my post may have been a bit inflamatory, and for that I appologize. I guess it was mostly a smart ass way of asking why you like the team that you like. After reading the replies, it doesn't seem that my reason for liking the Steelers is any more ignorant than anyone else's reason for liking their team.
By the way, slinkies suck. They always end up tangled, and then you can never get them back apart.

Hmmm, there's a bit of Steeler love in you. So, you just wanted to see how wound up I'd get?
Back to the original topic of predictions for the game... Cowher says that Boyd and Jacobs will play QB most of the game, so I predict that Boyd will throw 1-2 interceptions. He played in NFL Europe this summer and threw lots of interceptions. I can't see him making the team.

BLITZBURGH UBER ALLES!
Having said that, preseason predictions are pointless. You wont really know who's good and who's not untill about week 6. Even then some teams can struggle during the season, squeek in to the playoffs and get hot. Like Pittsburgh did last year when they ran the table on the road. Every team, at this point, is undefeated. And they all are contenders. Thats what is great about the NFL, any team can compete from year to year. Unlike baseball where only a handfull of teams are actuall contenders at the start of the season. But I still like the Pirates, because they were my team growing up in the seventies. When they were really good. Its my observation that there are a lot of Niner fans now, because they grew up in the eighties when that team was dominant. If Tampa Bay would have been the 'team of the eighties' there would be more Buccaneer fans around. Everybody likes to be associated with a winner. Which is why you have numerous bandwagon fans pop up when a team is a consistant winner. The Steelers are not immune to this. Ive noticed alot more people wearing Black and Gold since they won the Superbowl. But where were these fans when they went 6-10 a few years back? (My brothers can vouch for my loyalty) Its just human nature. Personally Im an all hometeam guy. I cant see rooting for a team you cant follow without spendin alot money on a satelite package. Unless you grew up in the area of that team and have been subplanted in to this one. (MATT!) But thats me. Some people hate hometeams simply because they are the hometeam. (Probably rooted in some sort of anti-social/ rebellious issues) To each they're own...
I hope KC has a great year, because I want to see Larry Johnson become a superstar (Penn Stater- Hometeam)
And Oakland will continue to struggle as long Al Davis breathes. He's has done a lot of good things for pro football, but the game passed him by years ago. (same thing happened to Chuck Noll, but he realized it and stepped down) And he wont keep his nose(or his ego) out of the day to day operations of the team. Yes they managed to get to the superbowl recently, but they just havent been consistant. Im not a Raider hater, its just my opinion.
Ahhh...Talkin football in August, I LOVE IT!!

Yeah, I just get a kick out of seeing people get overly emotional cuz I do it all the time just ask anyone that knows me.
I Don't see the Steelers having a problem with the Cards but it's preseason, anything can happen.
