Steelers vs. Cardinals - It Finally starts, predictions ??

Post by f.sciarrillo »

Saturday as we all know is the first pre-season game. The Steelers will be going against the Cardinals. You can watch it on fox sports pitt, if you don't have kdka.

Anyway, any predictions ?? Since the cardinals are pretty high up their in the sux category, right next to the raiders; cowboys; and philly; I say the Steelers will win by 30 points. And that is with the third stringers in ... :)

well I have to agree with AtoMikEnRtiA that is so true. Like most sports reporters say with the loss of the top 2 people on the steelers team their will not be able to score like they did last year. Yes their D is going to be top but they cant do it all. GO DENVER

It's only preseason, so I'm not going to predict a score. I am, however, interested to see how Cedric Humes and Omar Jacobs look. If Duce goes down in the season, and we know that he will, I'm hoping that Humes will take full advantage of the situation.

... and how could Denver possibly win a Super Bowl this year? It's not going to happen with Jake the Mistake!!

Who are Jacobs and Humes. Are they drafted rookies or free agents? What positions? I would appreaciate your knowledge.

Omar Jacobs is a 5th round draft pick QB from Bowling Green and Cedric Humes is a 7th round draft pick RB from Virginia Tech.

I think you'll see Warner in the first, Leinart in second and into third, Navarre finishing the third into the forth and Davey finishing it up. I'm also looking forward to see how well Polamalu is without Chris Hope . Let's see what can Pittsburgh do to stop James, or for that matter what James can do for the Cardinals. Let's see how Santonio Holmes really is.

And finally...Let's see if Pittsburgh's secondary is going to be yet again burnt on the deep ball with Boldin and Fitzgerald dashing to one up each other again.

Go Cards!

What's up with the Steeler haters? No team represents their part of the country better than the Steelers. Several of my uncles, my Dad, and my Grandfather worked in the Steel Mills. Western PA is blue collar and the Steelers play a hard nosed, grind it out, tough style of football. Why would someone around Altoona like the Cardinals? Because they like little red birds? Why would people from Altoona like the Raiders? Because their Dad is a pirate? It seems some people feel a need to root for out of town teams just to be a pain in the ass and to be different. Did you guys rooting for Denver, Oakland, and Arizona grow up there? Or, are you guys just breaking balls?

I like the chiefs cuz as a kid I aspired to be Joe Montana.
I loved the 49'ers then Joe left for KC, I went with him and followed his career and the team and I really like them. I didn't know there were rules to being a fan of sports. Just because someone or something is from the same place as me doesn't mean I have to like it exclusively or even at all.
I also as a child played with toys other than slinky's does that offend you.
I have out of state friends and hate some of my very own neighbors.
But if you really like I'll stop having my own opinions and do whatever works for you. Why do you like the steelers hometown team? didn't get out much as a kid, is that who your dad told you to like? I bet it's because you had fun watching them and felt excited every time they scored. As far as the steelers and steel workers, Millionaires and people who bust they're balls and risk their lives to support a family have nothing in common. Besides how many mills are left, I think to better represent the area they should be known as the Pittsburgh barely speaks english motel owners. Cuz that's what we've got now, I'm a certified structural steel welder and now I run a Sales office for a publishing company because I got laid off the same time that about a thousand fucking railroad workers did. Believe me I've got enough love for where I'm from
my family and closest friends live here. I don't need to like the stupid ass football team. You do realize it's a game right. It's not like I'm rooting for Iraq to win the war on terror. I love ignorance.

I have never been a believer of the "homestate team" belief - I hate the Penguins (GO FLYERS!), I hate the Pirates (Go Braves!) and I despise the Steelers (again.. GO RAIDERS!).. the only home state team I support is Penn State..

Being from the Altoona Area (Huntingdon County, I dont know if you could call that Altoona Area or Chambersburg Area - I think for me it's the same distance to both from Orbisonia) all Ive ever known were Steelers fans.. except my family - I guess I like the Raiders because my mother likes the raiders (she even has the raiders emblem tattooed on her foot) - and as I was growing up I always saw myself as "the raiders style", brash, arrogant and set apart from the rest. Thats what I love so much about the Oakland Raiders -- ever since their inception they have always been the thorn in the side of the league, and of society - from Al Davis down (even as Al Davis was commissioner of the league), sure I dont agree all the time w/ what Davis does.. but I do feel that he is making conscious decisions for whats best for his franchise - which has the highest winning percentage of ALL MAJOR SPORTS TEAMS, despite only 3 Super Bowl Championships..

I understand why everybody in Altoona supports the Steelers.. the Steelers represent the common people of western pennsylvania.. blue collar, hard working, common folk.. Im sorry, that's not me. I may have lived in Huntingdon County for my developmental years, but I never saw myself as the "blue collar type" - yes I do work hard, but not in positions that I would say are "blue collar" .. this is why I like the Raiders..

Also, being born the preseason after a Raiders Super Bowl win - Ive always felt a connection w/ the Oakland Raiders and will never throw my loyalties down due to a couple losing seasons.. and one of my life's goals is to sit in the middle of The Black Hole, with the best fans in all of sports (aside from the student section of Penn State) wearing all black, a gas mask, and cheering on the greatest sports team ever..

Oh yeah.. you think Altoona is bad w/ supporters for other teams.. the town I currently live in (Palmyra, PA - Baltimore Ravens territory) - Ive seen like 2 eagles fans in the entire town.. and the greatest part - I know so many Raiders fans down here, it's almost unbelieveable!!

thats my take

My wife likes beans and the steelers.
I prefer rICE and Kansas city, I don't even know how we got along.
I guess beans and rice go together.

This year the Steelers will break the record and be the winniest Super Bowl team in nfl history !!

Then you can all hate them from sheer jealousy ...
