Well, I assume you orginally meant PA racks, but in my bass rack, I have...

BBE Bmax preamp
QSC RMX850 power amp
Korg DTR1000 tuner
Furman conditioner
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

I sold my main system and no longer do sound, but I racked up a little stage PA that can handle 3-piece in any room in central PA:

6 space Gator FX rack
Alesis power conditioner
Alesis Multimix 12R
dbx DriveRack PA
Shure DFR11EQ (for monitors)
Boss VF1 FX

2 EV SXa360 powered cabs (mains)
2 EV SX300a powered cabs (for monitors)
1 EV SXa100 powered cab (for monitors)

if necessary:

2 EV S18 1-18" subs (reloaded with EV 18bx)
2 Peavey DPC1400x 1400W amps (for subs)
ETA PD11LP 20 amp power conditioner for Peaveys

SKB wheels utility case hold all wiring and mic stands.

A superclean 136db PA that fits into the back of a Honda Element

This post, along with most of these SOUND posts belong in the TECH SECTOR

MY Rack:

Celery Seed
Thyme
Oregano
Jamaican Jerk seasoning
Old Bay
Basil
Coriander

All mounted on a 360 degree all access rotating movement enclosure

I keep the delicate stuff like capers in something I call “the refrigerator”.

And of course the old standby workhorses salt & pepper (not the rap group, I have them upstairs)

Before Grunge, my rack was quite extensive. I think that I've found a happy medium these days. The main ingredients are:

Digitech GSP 21 Legend
Ampeg head

These are all excellent items, but you can replace all of them with a dbx DriveRack series processor and get some extras like automatic anti-feedback notch filters, pink noise generator and frequency analyzer with auto-EQ function. Once you have the room tweaked...you just save it into memory for immediate recall next gig.

Also, see what happens when you make a technical post in general discussion!

A similar, but low cost item that you can use for monitors is the Behringer DSP1124 Feedback Exterminator at about $50 used. 2 channels per rackspace and 12 filters per channel. You can program it for 2 or 3 band parametric EQ for tone shaping and use the other 9-10 filters for anti-feedback notch filters. When used properly, they'll sound better and you can get 9db+ extra gain out of your monitors before feedback . This works so much better than GEQs that you will wonder how you got by with GEQs. This has only 10 program slots, but with monitors, you are tweaking the speakers more than you are tweaking the room. 10 is plenty.

Lonewolf, I apologize for being too general for you. I suppose a number WOULD be more technical. "38B" I hope that's "technical" enough! :D

Nice racks are my favorites, too. But I prefer DD. Anyway, you know what they say: You see one, you've seen 'em both. :D
I love it when a plan comes together.

+1 for the Driverack. Makes life easier.

Lonewolf, have you checked out the newer DEQ2496? Similar features with an auto-EQ function. I've never used the DSP1124, but many people recommended thed DEQ over it. I use mine on the stage side fills. I like it quite a bit and for the price you can't go wrong. I don't know if I'd trust it on the FOH mix, but they're handy for spares when you need one.

I haven't tried it, but it looks like it will do more with higher quality than the DSP1124 which is discontinued. Side fills was the 1st thing that came to mind when I looked at it.

There is a big price difference, since you can get used DSP1124's for $50 and they are more than adequate to EQ + anti-feedback wedge monitors. There is a stock program setting for 3-band parametric + 9 auto notch filters for AF control. $100 will give you 4 channels of very good monitor EQ and feedback control that is super-quick and easy to operate.

I am now using a half-rack Shure DFR11EQ for a single monitor channel in the event that I may form a 3-piece band. This has the fastest/best anti-feedback that I have seen, but the 31-band EQ must be set via serial port and it only has 3 presets. I have mine preset to EQ my EV SX300a powered monitors and have all 10 AF filters as clearable presets.

Ahh, I remember the good old days when you were lucky to have a homemade wedge (complete with piezo tweeters) sitting in front of you.
