Landis DOPED!

Landis tests confirm he doped during Tour de France.. if a second test confirms, he will be fired from team Phonak.. more than likely his Tour de France title is going to be stripped from him.

in other news, he has since gone missing - he has missed 2 races in the Netherlands and Denmark.. this is probably why.

.. what a disgrace, i kinda feel like driving to lancaster and killing him now.

EDIT: Floyd Landis has been suffering from a degenerating hip problem that will require surgery - and it is rumored that the spike in testosterone may be from medicinal purposes - however this level was tested right after stage 17 in the Alps, in which Floyd Landis blew everybody away and finished by himself, and was able to go from 11th or 8th in standings to 3rd.. he reclaimed the yellow jersey 2 days later

This is all about the Frenchies hating Americans winning their event. It is more important to them than our Super Bowl and World Series combined.

They have never stopped claiming that Lance Armstrong did illegal substances to help him win his 7 Tours.

Now that they have accused Landis is no surprise if you followed how the French have done this to Americans. They also did this to Greg Lemond after he won 3 Tours.

I used to cover the Tour De Toona for work. Did 5 of them, and had the pleasure of getting to know Floyd over the years. I just cannot believe that Floyd would dope to win. That guy is straight up class all the way, and one of the best riders in the world. No way he doped.

Even if he didn't use dope it makes no difference because now he is a marked man thanks to the press . The French need to wake up have and some more cheese with their "whine" because they suck and they're just a bunch of sore losers. They need to let them all boot up some steriods and maybe then there would be some real action, like wheelie pop'n and fist fights, I might watch it then.

We could have "Outlaw Scale" in every sport....Raise the basketball hoops to 13'.....streach out the ball fields to twice the outfield....make it 200 yards to a touchdown!..."figure 8 the Nascar tracks"!!

I agree with most everyone else. I'll wait to see what the second tests and ensuing investigation indicate. Given the way the French have dogged Lance Armstrong over the years, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody actually created this scandal to try to tarnish Landis' victory. All anybody over there needs to do is yell "doping!" and suddenly it's guilty until proven innocent.

Damn straight. They had Extreme Spelling Bee on ESPN2 the other day. It was a whole hour of Bam Margera trying to spell "gonorrhea" while a gorilla hit him in the nuts with a tire iron. Excellent f'n show.

Whatever Landis may or may not have done, it seems like a pretty troubled sport. Hell, some of the favorites never even made it to the Tour this year because of a Spanish doping scandal.

One has to take it with a grain of salt when the French say an American has to much testosterone. Since they have vitrually no BALLS, then any amount of testosterone would seem too much.

You know, not to incite a flame war, but it's examples of stupid rhetoric like this that make europeans (espically french and french-canadiens) hate americans. They're people too, and for the large part - the people have no control over things that happened in the past.. anyways..

the difference between Armstrong and Landis is that Landis has piss that is showing he's loaded too much testosterone - granted it may be medicinal, and im not saying right now it it/isn't - but the tests show right now he's overloaded..

i'll wait until the 2nd test results come back before i say he's truely a disgrace or not - right now, it doesnt look good for him (think about it - if he were truely innocent he would be crying 'foul' and not hiding from it - he would be on every media outlet saying it's medical.. he's not doing that right now, kind of a bad sign) .. however i do hope it's just medical

Why not trust the French? Do you know which country recieved more cheap oil in the "oil for food" scandle with Saddam? Right, the Frenchies. It is the largest scandle in the history of the world in terms of dollars, and the French were getting the most of it while Saddam was using the money to build more palaces and torture chambers, instead of actually going for food and medicine for his people.

Do I believe the French would alter and contaminate an Americans piss sample bottle. Damned right. Especially when Americans have won 11 of the last 21 Tour De Frances.

You know what Joe, again ... not to incite a flame war, but have you ever been to France? Do you have any fucking clue what the people are like? I went to college with a bosnian who spent a few years of his life in France after escaping Slobodan Milosivec, and one of my better college buddies has been to france on multiple occasions and they have both said that the french people are genuinely good people, which is Im sorry to say, more than you can expect from the typical flag-waving American..

I've been to Montreal, and for Quebec' technically being Canada. I've never imagined Montreal being a Canadien city - in my mind, it has always been a French city - because of it's french history, and heritage. The citizens of Montreal are very very nice people, once again - more than you can expect from the typical flag waving American. Sure, there are some exceptions (mostly in and around Saint Catherines) but other than that, they're geniuinely good people.

To all the Frankophiles: When someone makes fun of the French, it is a generalization based upon the actions they have demonstrated time and time again. France had the largest sitting army before WWII. Fact. Germany went thru them like a knife thru hot butter. The only thing the French army did well was surrender to a smaller force. So the generalization of them not being a great fighting force is well seeded. The well known international joke of it not being an official was until the French surrender is based on fact, no matter how many college buddies spent a year in France.

In the Tour de France the crowd is allowed right on the road, and can actually touch the riders, espicially going up the steep Alpine roads. Lance Armstrong used to have trouble seeing because so many of the spectators would spit in his face. Were all of those Eruopeans and French sweet and wonderful?

The French have tried to denigrate all 3 Americans who have won thier Tour. Lance is still in legal battles over allegations. Why don't some people face it and admit the French are poor loosers.

The French lost the World Cup in soccer recently, due in part to their best player head butting an opponent. That player is lauded and a superstar in France. He LOST the game, but is a hero in France.
