Pair ordered to paintball their own cars

Post by HarleyRo1 »

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (July 20) - A judge ordered two paintball shooters to take aim at their own cars in order to stay out of jail.

Joshua Breeding, 20, and 19-year-old Christopher Lyons were found guilty on Thursday of splattering up another man's vehicle with paintballs in May. They each got a sentence of 60 days in jail.

Municipal Court Judge Michael Cicconetti gave them the option of shooting their own cars with paintballs and then cleaning up the mess. They also have to spend 40 hours painting at a Habitat for Humanity home.

The judge also ordered the pair to apologize to their victim and pay court costs.

I am a paintball player as well as a certified ref. Many paintball players are angered at incidents like this. It is usually the people who aren't real players that go to Wal-Mart and purchase a 15 dollar marker for vandalizing who give the whole sport a bad stereotype. Not the players who invest hundreds or thousands of dollars in equipment. This leads to the law turning on paintball and banning markers and equipment in municipalities. Just wanted to point this out to anyone not aware.

I don't think any of us have a problem with paintballers as a whole, just the ones who feel the rules don't apply to them. I think the egotistical view that one's own satisfaction outweighs everyone else's is the number one problem with society: Like the a-hole that runs the redlight 3 seconds after it turns red to cross in front of you, or the dicksmooch who runs his jetski 20 feet from your bass boat as you fish, or the bungwipe that brings your show to a screeching halt to request his 8th song. People like that are the reason I can't allow my wife to carry a gun. She'd have an empty clip the first time somebody budged infront of her in the grocery store checkout line. :)
I think the punishment was good, but they they should stand at an intersection with a sandwich board saying,"Point at me and laugh!"--->JMS
