hey all, were getting a press kit ready to send out to different labels, management teams, venues, etc. Anyways, I know I'm forgetting something in the press kit. We have the ep, the bio page, the business card, the 8x10 black and white photo...What else is there?
The business card, the disc, and the bio page all contain our website and contact info...

here is what goes into every Emily's ToyBox press kit:
1 high quality, 2-pocket folder with a business card slot
1 band sticker for the front of the folder
1 professionally printed band business card
1 glossy, black & white 8x10 promo photo
1 band bio printed on ETB royal linen letterhead paper
Clear photo copies of all recent magazine & newspaper articles, radio airplay lists, etc. (neatly
arranged in chronological order)
1 professionally printed, full-color monthly mailer card (schedule card)
1 or 2 extra band stickers
1 official ETB pen (depending on who the press kit is intended for)
1 or 2 of the most recent ETB CDs (again, depending on who the press kit is intended for -
some get no CDs while others may get several)
All of our press kits are sent out in large, bubble-padded envelopes with typed or professionally
printed To & From address labels. Business cards, mailer cards, photos, etc. are all professionally
printed (i.e. not from an inkjet printer). Whatever printer you choose, bulk is always cheaper!
In my opinion, places that run small orders (under 1000 pieces) are usually too expensive.
Trying to get all of this stuff printed at once is probably too much for any band to do in one shot.
So if you have to pick and choose where to spend your money, spend it first on quality, professional
photos and a good business card.
Yes, it is time consuming and expensive to create a really good press kit. But just like your
instruments, equipment or time spent practicing; press kits are an investment in your band, your
business, and your future.
