What's The Longest You Have Been In One Band?
It seems that bands and band members come and go so quickly.
What is the longest you have in one band?
What is the longest you had the same lineup of band members in a band?
I have been in many bands for long periods but here are my longest.
I was in Lickety Split for 7 years from beginning to end but the band went through a total of 12 members in that time.
My current band, The Conniptions, has been together for 5 years and with the same members for 4-1/2 years.

The longest I've been in one band is 1 and a 1/2 year and still counting with Eyes of Anguish...thats doesn't seem to long but I'm only 18 so I still have a lot of time to let that get longer (hopefully) lol...
the longest we've had the same lineup was 1 year 3 months but lately we went through a few vocalist changes but I think now we have the line up we'll have for a long time to come

Condemned Existence probably has been going the longest out of the serious bands ive been in. Keith Rice and I started jamming and writing song over 2 years ago in MD. We were two dudes with guitars then. It took a long time to fill the band out...and a relocation to PA to find the right guys! Hopefully this lineup stays for a long time. I have way too much fun jamming with those dudes and they all are cool as shit!
I was in 'Dead To One' for about a year and a half. They were assholes though. Thank God that band didnt get anywhere, haha, i wouldve killed them shortly after.

Two years about with Condemned Existence before we were called that. Back when we were recording songs in a PORN store and only having two guys in the band. I was thinking that when keith reyn was moving to PA that it would be the end of the band i should back out and let him go on with other people.
I am glad that i didn't and stuck with him because i wouldn't have met the talented band mates that i have now. People that not only that i can play in a band with and make music with but also hang out and be friends as well. Getting along with each other is a major thing in a band. And i think that when it is no longer fun is when everything turns sour and bands break up. I don't see anything happening like that at all.
Not to mention and not kissing ass or anything like that but
if spellbound wouldn't have moved to pa. I wouldn't have had the pleasure of meeting

Lets see if i can wipe away some cobwebs..
The Hurricanes were started by Felix in 89'. The original bass and drums were Phil K and Tom Berardinelli (RIP). I started in 90, when Felix called me and had alot of gigs lined up. Phil was still on bass. I was playing with Fatal Maim (5 years) at the time but only 1 show a month so i gladly took the gigs. We got Jeff on bass then after awhile and played 3 to 4 nights a week. Maim ended and i did some other metal bands during that time but was still playing with Felix. Jeff left to go on the road for a year or 2. I then was frustrated with music and took a job doing rubber roofing. John Mcknight took over drums with Billy Newsome on bass. Kevin played too along with Dick and others. After John left for Georgia i was sick of roofing and Felix called so i quit the job and started playing again.
Jeff came back off the road and we been playing our kickass schedule ever since. So all in all about 13 years with the Canes.
Other Hurricane notables:
Blues for Tuesday, New Sabs (City Limits) for 5 years
Peter C's Thursdays 7 years
Man, where did the time go...

Let's see I've been in False Icons for like Three years now NO changes on members at this point, Fat Vinny for four years<(got the royal dildo there) was forced to leave other than before I'd change bands quickly and my reason for that was when I would join a band they gave my the old song and dance and tell me everything I wanted to hear BUT,BUT then they would turn around and prove something totally different from what they said they weren't going to do so I'd bail
I've been wanting to come to see you play. What is the False Icons schedule ?Decay wrote:Let's see I've been in False Icons for like Three years now NO changes on members at this point, Fat Vinny for four years<(got the royal dildo there) was forced to leave other than before I'd change bands quickly and my reason for that was when I would join a band they gave my the old song and dance and tell me everything I wanted to hear BUT,BUT then they would turn around and prove something totally different from what they said they weren't going to do so I'd bail

That was really cool to hear the actually Hurricanes history like that, Bobby. Didn't Jason Ebersole play with the Hurricanes for a while, though?Hurricane wrote:Lets see if i can wipe away some cobwebs..

The core members of Thin Ice were together under different names for 8 1/2 years, as a working band, although most of us played in garage bands together since 1979. Mark Morningstar and his brother Curt have been my closest friends since we were toddlers, I've known Doug Forshey since he was 10, and Scot Mark since junior high. Doug and I still play together when he's in town (like we did just yesterday).
I was in Bradley Junction and Lone Wolf (not Jeff, but the country band of the late 90's) for 3 1/2 years each, and Sidestep for a bit over a year.
Good thread. How can it possibly turn into a pissing match?

I'm not too clear on the details, but Bobby's post helps a little...Hurricane wrote:Yeah, i didnt get to play with Jason though,![]()
I know he's on here, maybe he can fill in the blanks.
John McKnight and I were playing with the US Hotel House Band when, as Bobby says, "Jeff left to go on the road" ... and Bobby "got frustrated with music". I think that's when we left the US House band to then play with Felix.
I was playing with the Hurricanes when my daughter was born, so that would have been around the 1996/1997 timeframe. A bit after John and I joined Felix, John was really itching to play fulltime and hit the road if necessary; something I couldn't do. I finally had to quit as I could not make a commitment to the kind of schedule John wanted to keep. I probably played with the Hurricanes for less than 2 years.
Right after me, they picked up a guy from the Bellefonte area who lasted only a few months. Billy was sometime between this guy and when John finally left for Atlanta...
