The J's Big Day Tomorrow

Post by J Michaels »

The J is defending his doctoral dissertation at 10am tomorrow. This is the big day, folks. Five years of my PhD program basically come down to tomorrow, when I can hopefully remove the "soon-to-be" prefix from my signature, and just be "Dr. J". Woo hoo! Send me some good vibes, everyone. :D

And thanks to everyone who has replied to the "Sweet Home... Alabama" thread. Once tomorrow is over I will hopefully be able to breathe long enough to come out to some shows and some celebratory shots! :P

Be sure to take a heavy sword and shield. Also, have a backup crossbow...

Good Luck! I know you'll be fine!

They call him Dr. Love. He is the doctor of love. He's got the cure you're thinking of. Calling Dr. J Love.

You're gonna kick ass! If you've made it this far, you've got the stones to take it all the way. :D

Thanks, all - the J can feel the love, baby... ;)

undercoverjoe - the title is "The Effects of Neighborhood and School Context on Extracurricular Participation and Educational Outcomes". I analyzed the odds of graduating HS and going to college based on one's background and participation in extracurriculars during high school by estimating a multilevel logistic regression model. Oooh..... sounds impressive, doesn't it? :D

cruse - I did remember to breathe - thanks for the tip! ;) I now hold a PhD in both Sociology and in Demography. Unfortunately I can't do much about that liver, and I wouldn't touch your butt even if I WAS qualified... ;) Now about some of that Crown.... The J's favorite - mmmmmm....................... :D

And, as usual, Jimi's post is the funniest one... you crack me up on an almost daily basis, dude..... The sword and extra crossbow Rob mentioned were actually a consideration for a moment ;) ... :P

You guys all rule................................. 8)

Thanks for all the good vibes and kind comments - I am sooo gonna miss everyone on the Rockpage when I head to Dixie......

That's exactly why they call the writing of the PhD dissertation "polishing the turd". It HAS to sound impressive.

J, congrats on your accomplishment and good luck in 'Bama.
