Burgi's Roundhouse needs your help!

Post by Jim Price »

I know Hurricane posted a thread about this in the "Law" section, but since this event takes place on Wednesday morning, I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of it.

This is the text of the letter Burgi's has circulated among their patrons.

Burgi's Roundhouse Bar & Grille has petitioned the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for an exemption to their rule that prohibits outdoor amplified music at establishments that hold a liquor license.

The Logan Township Board of Supervisors has approved Burgi's petition for outdoor music on their patios.

You can help Burgi's by attending a public hearing which is scheduled for this Wednesday, May 31, at 10 AM at Burgi's Roundhouse Bar & Grille in the party room. We need our patrons (and other music fans) to show up in force and let the LCB know that you support Burgi's petition for outdoor amplified music.

Again, the details:

What: LCB hearing on Burgi's peition to allow for outdoor amplified music.

Where: Burgi's party room.

When: 10 AM on Wednesday, May 31.

Burgi's thanks you for your support and hopes to see you May 31.

If any Rockpagers can make it to this hearing, please do. Also for PACAG folks, this is a good opportunity to get acquainted with the faces and names of the LCB folks we'll likely have to work with to get other provisions of the Liquor Code changed.

And although this pertains to Logan Township only, if Burgi's is successful in their efforts, it could set the precedent for future attempts to get outdoor music laws/rules changed in the City of Altoona and other municipalities.

Burgi's is located north of Altoona, between Greenwood and Pinecroft. It's located about a half mile south of the Pinecroft interchange off I-99, on old Route 220. As Songsmith said, across from the Central PA Humane Society.

I plan to attend.

Wish I could go, I've heard that there are residents from I believe it is called Lynnwood Drive or something like that, about them having petitions with lots of names and participants going to be at the meeting tomorrow to try to stop this from happening. They say that they can hear the music from inside the building now and don't want the outside permit. There was also mention about "All of the motorcycles" that are already coming there on a regular basis, guess they don't like them either. Sounds like a big ole poker run needs to be done with Burgi's being the final stop :D. Looks like this is not going to be an easy thing for Burgi's.
Good Luck Chuck!!!!

I posted a recap of the hearing in the thread about it in "The Law" section. Here is a link to the thread so the discussion can be continued there:
