I think another thing is to not play the area so much. Altoona in general is not a very big place and if you play there week after week, you get played out. Vs the Earth does great because they were already establised and they are a good band...but they only come to town once a month, so when they do, everyone wants to see them- same thing with BSL. Bands that wanna do good have to make a name for themselves and keep people wanting to see you. If you play every week in the same area, chances are people will be sick of you.

good point bobby...

Then again, you guys are a three piece, self sufficient on sound, and you got your shit together. You don't need to ask for $1000 a show. :D

Also, many bands have not updated their setlists in years. We try to have at least one or two new songs each time we return to a club.

The bar scene is basically over. I don't go out wk'ends anymore. Anyone driving around after 1:30am on a wekkend night might as well paint a bit yeller target on the their wagon. Cause sooner or later you gonna get busted. Ask yourself, 'who the hell else is driving around at 2am?' You're screwed, blued and tatooed!

I confine my self to week nights only, you won;t see me at (m)any of yer weekend shows. I stay close to home and leave early. It's over dudes, it aint 1970 anymore!

Good we don't wanna see you! Looks like you need to go back to school instead of bars anyway.

Yea I agree. Its attitudes like yours that are keeping people away. All you have to do is control yourself drinking when driving....Geez...its called maturity. I've been going out week-ends to hear music for 25 years and haven't got pulled over yet. Well, pulled over once but not busted.

This is it in a nutshell, people around here just want to get shitfaced and can't control their drinking. Therefore they stay at home and drink themselves into the next day. Hooray!

The cops out here in Nevada are really on people's shit. But that doesn't stop them from goin out. I know like at least 5 people that have gotten DUI's. Hell I got a fine for walkin outside with a beer last month. HAHA. I thought you could because you can everywhere else I've been in Nevada. Reno is tough with the cops, but people still go out and have a good time. There are a lot of cabs as well too.

When the DUI laws got toughter and tougher, I did the only sane thing to do, I quit drinking. I may get pulled over (haven't yet) but I'll never get busted for DUI because I don't dring when I'm out an have to drive. I still have a good time and enjoy the band, and guess what? I don't wake up with a hangover. (And I have a lot more money left in my wallet, too.)
