Local act CD sales
I don't want to make a competion out of this but I'm curious how many CD's you guys are selling of your original material. Feel free to reply by PM also if you think it may get competetive.
Don't bitch to me about the economy while you're still buying Chinese products.
We released in January and we have moved just over 350 units.

After nearly a quarter century of playing, I have yet to actually sell a recording. Thin Ice had moderate success on radio statewide, but since we had no saleable product, it was 100% underground tape trading. A friend of ours did a video and sold 200 at 20 bucks a pop, though. I'm pretty proud of that.
I'm working on a bluegrass record right now that I hope to have available for sale around summer's end... it'll be the first thing I've ever sold.---->JMS

When I played with Lickety Split, we had a regional hit 45 record in 1978-1979 with a version of Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home". I would say we sold somewhere around 1,200 copies. When it hit the radio stations in October 1978, it became the most requested song up to that time on WJNL. It was also the most played song on many jukeboxes for a 10 year period.

not bad, not bad. i know after we received the shit pile of cds that this so-called "producer" called "Dead Eyes and Rosaries" - we sold roughly 300 of them to the local chapter of the NRA in substitution of clay pidgeons..Hurricane wrote:We put them on Ebay as drink coasters, hot item!
they stopped using the cds after shards of cd started flying back and piercing shooters in the eyes.. apparently the same people who listened to the cd quality were the same people who shoot skeet without goggles..

My Project Twelve(34) CD, Small Eternity was released in May of '04. It has sold right around 400 copies. Not bad for a studio/electronica CD with no live band to promote it.
The Ask a Stranger CD, Stranger Things Have Happened, sold over 2500 CDs and tapes in 91 and 92. We were retailed through National Record Mart. We were on their hot sheet for 3 months. We actually outsold Heart and GnR one month. Last year someone paid $68.00 for an Ask a Stranger CD on Ebay. I have been selling old copies (about 50) from the basement to a store in the Netherlands. He says they sell regularly. Also sold a few in Germany and Japan back in the day.
