English Paper

Post by mikers85 »

I had to write a research paper for my English class, so I chose the PLCB problem. I used this site as a major resource. I am posting the paper in case you can use it. Many of you already know the majority of the information presented. Feel free to correct any mistakes. My professor is a former editor of the Altoona Mirror.

Mike,

I'm very impressed with the paper. It seems as though you did some sound research. It was also refreshing to read something that didn't sound like it was written by a 5th grader. I remember my freshman composition class. We use to do peer-reviewing on our papers, and it was always a nightmare because of some of the garbage I had to read. And these kids were in college!!!??? Anyways, I digress.

I learned a few things I didn't know, such as 36% of the Altoona clubs were fined by noise violations - and those were the clubs that offered a comment. I assume that the number is actually much higher.

I am a little discouraged that it doesn't look like much is going to be done in Harrisburg right now. Of course, this may prompt us to rethink our strategy. Nobody said that this was going to be a walk in the garden. If it's alright with you, I would like to print out a few copies of your report and bring them to the next PACAG meeting.

Thanks for taking the time to read it. To correct any confusion, it was actually 36% of the responding bars (at about 50% response rate which is normal for phone surveys). I don't think I included any clubs or places that require membership. I have no problem with you taking the copies to the meeting.
