Great place to see a show. We took in a Journey show there a few years back when they did a benefit for the Beamer Foundation post 9/11. We were having a few beers in the lodge and got to meet Neal Schon and Ross Valory. Nice guys, real humble.

I have Toto's new CD, and it kicks major amounts of ass. Trust me kiddies, this one is a LONG way away from crap like "Africa" or "Roseanna".

I'm sure alot of people are laughing at the thought of going to see Toto in concert so let me tell a story.

Friend in high school calls me " you wanna go see REO Speedwagon tommorrow night" I say......... "No" He say............ "I got free tickets" so I say "OK, I'll go"

Well the guitar player was rippin some nice leads and the whole band kicked some butt, the concert was nothin like the woosie stuff they had on the radio. So you can't judge a book by its cover and you can't judge a band till ya hear em live and in concert.

Steve Lukather from Toto is a great guitar player not only with this band but he is one of the most sought after session men in the business for the last 30 years by many major acts covering all styles of music.

Toto has always been one of my favorites. Their "Turn Back" album is impossible to get, but I personally think it's the perfect pop rock album. Okay, there's not a lot of heavy low-end on it (in 1980, only theaters had subwoofers, and even then only the good ones), but it's got excellent songwriting, tasty grooves, precise vocals, and baaadass guitar. It's a great headphone album, and makes a perfect soundtrack to a rainy day and a good book.

Man, I'm glad I was wrong, and everybody's finding it. It used to be really hard to find because it was a commercial flop, and the record company wouldn't support it. I think that's why Toto IV was SOOOOO commercial, to prove that they could sell records, as a kneejerk to the Turn Back record. I only ever saw one copy of Turn Back on CD ever, and I scoured used record shops for a long time... I burned a copy from a friend. Back in the 80's, I wore out a number of cassette copies of it. I used to have a home-dubbed cassette of it on one side, and Triumph's Just A Game album on the other... many, many hours were spent listening to it while driving home from parties and gigs. It's a good cooldown album, I think... I like stuff like Metal Church and Motorhead going to the party, Priest and AC-DC at the party, and Toto and Thin Lizzy on the way home... the soundtrack makes the evening complete!

I listened to a couple of songs off it, songsmith. It sounds pretty good. Nothing like the other stuff I am used to from them ..

I saw The Little River Band at Seven Springs a couple of months ago. It's a really cool place to see a band. As we were walking through the hallway to get to the room, the guitar player walked along side us the whole way through the building and I didn't know he was in the band till they took the stage. They were awsome. I didn't think I'd know any of their songs and ended up recognizing 3 or 4 of them. Great sound there.

Seven Springs is an AWSOME place to play. Retroactive played in the Matterhorn Lounge a bunch of times. The load in and load out SUCKED. It was a long way from the van to the lounge door and a long ass ramp too. Great acoustics and great pay.

Agreed...I saw REO years ago at Bald Eagle State Park....with The Badlees...ex-wife wanted to go and I wasn't all that into them at the time...so I went for her sake..I left as a new fan...had to buy thier live stuff and greatest hits...It's totally different there,,,alot of bands who you may think are kinda "layed back rock" seem to rip live!...They had "Wang Chung" drummer and it was an awesome show...same was for Matchbox 20...went because g/f wanted to see them and left as a new fan....Like I said...stuff that seems mild on the radio really rips live...I couldn't beleive how much harder they seem to play it live!...Matchbox 20 does one song the drummer wrote and you could tell because he kinda wrote it for his style of playing...Tears it up!

I saw REO Speedwagon at the House of Blues in Orlando, FL a few years back and they rocked. Small, great venue. They were always a hard rocking band - go back to Riding The Storm Out (pre Kevin Cronin). Bands like REO, Styx, and Journey had huge top 40 hits with their softer songs but they always played their harder edged FM rock radio tunes in concert and give the players a chance to show their stuff.

Every one of these bands had reservations about doing the power ballad songs and even resisted for a while but look what happened when they did. REO with Keep On Loving You, Styx with Babe and Journey with Lights and Open Arms all propelled them into selling millions of records and selling out stadiums.
