The Word of the Day

Post by Grammar »

pri·va·tion ( P )
n.

Lack of the basic necessities or comforts of life.
The condition resulting from such lack.
An act, condition, or result of deprivation or loss.

My friends, without me have you had a grammatical privation?

What a fine question I have asked.

In time, we shall look into some other topics I have researched. One thing I constantly ask myself is why a band as talented as "The Doors" chose that moniker?

My suggestion to these young gentlemen would have been to call themselves "Entrances" or perhaps something even more friendly like "The Objects Between Myself And My Sanctity."

Why "Led Zeppelin" for a band name? Would not "Lead Air Filled Balloon" been more proper?

Of course there is the issue of "Pink Floyd." There is no correct term to replace Floyd. I suppose I would have used a more common word combination like "Pink Flamingo."

Are you referring to that pornographic actor John Holmes? Perhaps a little more dialect would push our debate along.

But Captain Grammar, such a well-educated scholar of literature like yourself should know that The Doors chose their name from William Blake. ;)

It's a day too late. Towlie needed to come out yesterday on the 20th. Then again, stoner's are never on time.

As the great Spin Doctors once said...

What time is it?
4:30
Not late, nah nah
Just early
