How about we all get together and sue The Oil Companies ??

Post by f.sciarrillo »

What do you say ?? This is ridiculous, gas is up to $2.87 a gallon now. There is no way you can tell me that there is that much of an oil shortage; especially seeing that mobil was the most profitable company in the world last quarter. Some one has to grow a set and sue the heck out of these people. The gas prices are the reason why this country is going down the tubes and the reason why there have been a number of jobs being lost.

So what do you say ??? anyone know a good lawyer ??

There is no oil shortage, however, its a 2 way street and the oil companies don't have much to say about oil pricing whether its at $10/bbl or $70/bbl. Mobil spent a lot more years not making any money on cheap $10 oil than it is now at $70.

The fact is, oil is traded on the free open markets and OPEC is not doing anything to disrupt supply. Right now, oil futures are trading at $70/bbl because there is speculation by enough traders that prices will go even higher as we enter the driving season. Sabre rattling in Iran and Chinese expansion isn't helping things either.

What we need to be vigilante about are the unleaded distributors, 7/11s and Sheetzes of the world. There is local pump gounging as retailers raise prices on the slightest hint of an unleaded increase, but are unwilling to follow suit when the price drops.

I'd rather sue Exxon, than POP SHEETZ.
Pop Sheetz will own Exxon one day, mark my words.
Damn you Pop Sheetz, Damn you to hell.

Yes I too think it's bullshit ! I just saw a couple of days on the news that
Exxon/Mobile reported it's highest profits ever, 40 billion last year ! Their head CEO is retireing with a pension of 400 million and that their other top people are way over paid also . There is no way any of them are worth that kind of money no matter what anyone says. If there was a way to sue those bastards and anyone else who has anything to do with this terrible price of gas I would gladly jump aboard that ship . I would like to know why our state offcials and government offcials aren't doing anything about it ? I'll tell ya there's no money in it for any of them ! These oil mongers are destroying our way of life and I'm not talk'n about put'n gas in your atv, boat ,or rv , I'm talk'n about being able to afford the drive everyday to work and take'n your kids to their school functions and such, hell for that matter ,it takes the better half of a ten dollar bill to mow your fuck'n grass. I feel really sorry for the people who have minimum wage jobs who have kids and can't afford to drop 40 bucks in their gas tanks every week just to drive to work. What happens when everyone can't afford to do this any more, oh that's right they're finally going to raise minimum wage to 7 something an hour, and if they still can't afford the drive to work, no matter they'll just let some illeagal immigrants have those jobs. It's kinda funny how when you might use gas or fuel oil the most ,the price goes through the roof. I bought a newer mid sized truck over a year ago and it's no gas hog but, I've only put around 13 thousand miles on it cause I don't go anywhere ! I sure can't afford to drop 40 to 60 bucks every week into my tank , which hurts cause I would like to do more stuff with my family . These people need to wake up and smell the fumes cause before too long by people not going out or traveling is going to hurt the economy more and more which will mean everything will get bigger price increases so people can make enough money to keep up shop. There are lots of new tecnologies out there that would provide a life without such a need for oil but, most of the stuff we build here that is capable of this is shiped to some other country, go figure ! I agree though, that something has to give and we the people have the right to overthrow our government if we don't think it's fit and I don't really think they are, nor do they care about any of us little people who put them in office ,which is part of what my signature means !

sue them for what ...making a profit? you must be a communist! lol

OIL FUTURES determine price per gallon, oil companies do not control the futures. look at the price of a barrel of oil on the GLOBAL market, there's the problem!

I'm waiting to see if it gets bad enough that the truckers decide to park their rigs and go on strike, as happened during the energy crisis years in the mid 70's. If it comes to that point, things will get REAL interesting!

I prefer to sue the natural gas companies....it cost me more to heat my house this winter than my mortgage cost. Unbelievable.

This is so true. My natural gas bill last month was double what my rent was, and I live in a little two bedroom apt. Something has to be done with these shysters. It just makes me sick to see how they preach and preach about doing for your family then charge you more for gas than a gallon of milk. Gas should be one of lowest costing things around. Not the most expensive. Pretty soon it's going to be where you need to take out a loan to pay for it, it would be just like a car payment.

I also agree, Jim. If the truckers do something it should be really interesting. Should they stop delivering it would hurt a lot, and I mean a lot, of businesses.

Good luck with that-I've been driving truck for 16 1/2 years and I doubt if it happens. The trucking companies put fuel surcharges on just about everything that is shipped and guess who pays for it in the long run? Yep,you and I the consumer. I owned my own truck for awhile and I thought $1.50/gallon was bad!! I'm glad I got rid of it!!!!
