RAM Z wrote:Hey AtoMikEnRtiA, why would we be in the cover band part, sure we do covers but, we have almost enough original material to make an entire c.d. ! Check out my signiture ,that's a Sound Of Silence "cover" of a song I wrote years ago and it's title is "Too Much" just in case you were wondering ! l.o.l. We have wrote about three new tunes in the last couple of weeks and there still come'n out like crazy, so look for our first c.d. sometime in the near future, it'll be kick ass !
Aw c'mon RAM Z - im just pickin haha - i only listed you guys as an example for the knowledge of bands impaired..
.. although i was un-aware that you guys had that many originals, and that's awesome..
"okay we got da right and fruffy panacakes. ooooooh ver goood you get da rittre bruberries, too!"
Maybe if ya clicked our band page you would know that, no seriously I'm just jerk'n yer chain man ! l.o.l. I know you know we do our own material ! When we make our first c.d. I'll be sure you get a copy free of charge as I expect to get a E.o.A c.d. when you guy's make one with Justin and I know you're gonna right ?
A person is getting along the road to wisdom when they begin to realize that their opinion is just another opinion !
Who would you get to record this thing? But like i said sounds cool. I would think that an out door event thrown together with the bands of rockpage would be cool too. Have our selves our own ozzfest. Hell ROCKFEST
Oh, bummer. I don't have any original songs.
Clearances for covers aren't too hard for this type of record, but they cost a lot. I'd have to check with Harry Fox Agency but I think it's $80 per cover tune for the first 1000, then it goes to a mechanical royalty per copy... but don't quote me on that. Sometimes they waive it for charity, assuming the thing doesn't go platinum.
Either way, I'd rather hear original songs if ya got 'em.------>JMS
If it's too costly to do a cover CD like that, we could always have the cover bands play songs by other Rockpage acts. Like a Rockpage tribute CD. Imagine .00 Buck doing their interpretation of a House of Cain song, or something like that.
Although personally I'd love to hear the cover band peeps contribute original material, either as a whole band or as individuals. I think it'd be surprising and enlightening to see what came out. For example, our singer has a thing for blue-eyed soul.
Jimi... why not have it both ways. If you (or the guys as a whole) wanted to contribute an origional to say the rock cd... doesn't mean hf1 couldn't contribute to the covers disk. Sure it were to really happen maybe I could sweet talk and maybe get clearance for a Rella cover.
Even for any other cover band, it's not that hard to do a little research to find out who their management company is to contact and make a general inquiry.
I know...how bout we get the original bands to do our songs and we make them pay?....AC/DC does S.O.S........then they PAY us!!!...(Ok I'll hush up now)
