Tired of the PLCB Noise Rule? Send a letter!

Post by lonewolf »

OK Rockpagers, PACAG has made it easy for you to join the campaign to rewrite the noise rule. We already have the backing of a state Senator, but he wants us to show that this is not just a flash in the pan. He wants to see widespread support for the change.

We are presently engaged in a letter writing campaign to legislators regarding this matter. I have posted standard letters to local state Senators. Please download the appropriate file, print it out, address & sign it and mail it to your legislator. Your letter WILL count.

After you have done so, please reply to to this thread and tell us you mailed it!

Here is a link to the letters, found under "THE LAW"

I just wanted to highlight this. We've talked about this for years, but now, things are ready to change. We have a senator willing to sponsor the bill, but before it goes to committee, he needs to know that the bill has support. Printing and signing the letter should only take five minutes of your time and a stamp. That's a small price to pay for years of musical entertainment.

I have mine printed and I will have it in tomorrow's mail.

I will also make copies to hand out to family and friends. I hope others pass some around as well.

THANK YOU to all of you who did the work, research, meetings, etc.

The very least the rest of us can do is get out these letters. We have to let them know that it is not only a few involved in this campaign, but many.

I sent in all the letters that were signed at the Half Tempted jam at City Limits on Sat. night.

I took the extras and will use at upcoming shows that I go to.

Thanks Joe. I will make copies of all letters and take to our next show Saturday in Everett. Can anyone tell me who their Senator or Representative is down there?

Scott, we had discussions about how to make the biggest impression on the politicians...this included the opinions of professional PAC workers. It will have a greater impact if each letter is mailed separately.

If that were the attitude to take, we'd still be under Brittish control.

That's the beauty of our cause. We are fighting for a State PLCB Noise Law to protect the rights of all Pennsylvanians.

Who would be the opposition? The coalition for noise pollution?

The simple fact is that no politician would oppose a Noise Law. Our main goal is to make sure that the politicians know that it is an issue and that they should address it when they review the PLCB this spring/summer.

It is so cool to see everyone working together! I'm hoping to get a few non-musical types to back our cause in the next day or so (I haven't been playing gigs for a while)....its really fucking cool to see people unified on a single cause!

That awesum Steve!!

We will have letters at Bloody Run Social Club in Everett Sat night.

Plus, I'm gonna buy lots of stamps and have them when we play, AND when I go see other bands (oops, I let the cat out of the bag).

No, we musicians don't go see any other bands.
