Wicca - A Religion or a ????

Post by f.sciarrillo »

O.k. I was talking to someone the other day who said they were Wicca. It made me laugh when this person told me she was a witch and she worships the sun and moon. I didn't mean to offend her, but what the heck ??

Wicca is a religeon recognized buy the U.S. government. And eligable for tax exemptions as a Church. Since 1985 (or so Ive read) the Army has recognized it as a religeon and has trained their Chaplains accordingly. Wiccans do not worship the sun or the moon, they are however polytheistic and the sun and the moon are embodiments of their divine.. .....and no Im not a Wiccan.

I'd say it's more of a "Faith" than an organized "Religion"...one of the finest people I've ever known is Wiccan, yet they also believe in Jesus and speak of "seeing their God" when they die. I like to say I'm "Spiritual"...I also believe in a lot of things, but I'm not Wiccan, and I once was asked if I was Pagan - also a 'Faith', and NOT "evil". That was because this person is Pagan and I'd said something about "eyes". Ancient Native American ways were considered "heathen", yet as someone else said recently, I also believe they had the right ideas. I can't help but respect people who profess a certain Religious Faith...it's better than having none at all. Even the most base non-believer will one day "see"! :) However, I'll say it again, this is one of my all-time favorite quotes:

"Religious" people are afraid of going to hell. "Spiritual" people have already been there.

Naked wiccans

I think that witches in general get a bad rap. I really appreciate beautiful lesbian wiccan babes and think that they should be able to do whatever they want to each other. Whenever I hear the word "Wiccan" I always think "Beautiful Lesbian Withces" I guess it could be worse!

Hey is this a cool thread for April Fool"s????

We (me and the voices) would like to invite everyone to the "Hidden Tree Festival" on April fools day? You know who you are! If you don't know where it is then you are not invited! This will be the debut of several new bands along with the first area perofmrance of "Dark Tangerine" the all topless female Mime group from Pittsburgh. This is an all ages show and Mrs. Plants 3rd grade class will be providing the refreshments and body art!

The Mime troop will be doing their rendition of "East of Eden" through out the course of the night and autographs will be available.

There will also be a goldfish eating contest so bring your appetite!

All reservations will be taken in advance and remember " You are who you are!"
rest for now I die.

Bwahahahahahaha! YO, Nimrods, Not all Wiccans are Female, and just like "real life" - not all Female Wiccans are Lesbians. My Wiccan friend is Heterosexual.
However, they aren't Homophobic!
:D Between tornandfrayed, Spellbound and nosferatu2006's comments, WHOO! It's too late - or is that "early" to laugh so much!!! THANK YOU! (By the way Keith, I'm not a Wiccan but I'm a "tree hugger"... I believe in Conservation i.e., planting trees, and Recycling...but I also love a roaring campfire...I'm a dichotomy! :))

Punkinhead, Re: my quote, that's YOUR opinion, and as the saying goes, those are like assholes, everyone's got one. :D

Even trees need love sometimes. Imagine how lonely it would be to be a tree. Just growing up your entire life by yourself, rarely ever making physical contact with other trees. Sure, the occasional bird or squirrel stops by for a visit. And some may take up residence for a while. But its just not the same as a warm and caring embrace. So give the Tree Huggers a break for a change. Their methods may not always be the most rational, (Who's among us are?) but most assuredly their hearts are in the right place. And, in the end, isnt that what's really important? 8)

Isn't Sully from Godsmack a Wiccan?

A friend of mine is a Wiccan she told me stories about whenever Jehovah's Witnesses came around she always had a bubbling cauldron in the living room. Her husband went to open the door and she'd start yelling some enchantments and sh*t. Her husband would invite them in to have them tell more about what they witnessed or whatever they talk about. They asked what she was doing, and he said she is Wiccan and those Witnesses just took off running from the house. I should try that sometime.

All the freakshow witches at the HS i went to were always casting spells and other profoundly gay shit. Made them look really stupid, and none of their shit worked. ITS ALL IN THE MIND. YOU HAVE NO POWER. haha, once that movie "The Craft" hit, there were girls stuffed in too tight black leather all over the place casting spells. Truly a sad time. There WERE some wiccan dudes there too, but im 110% sure they liked other guys to caress their asses, so their opinion doesnt count.

as far as tree hugging, i have no prob with that. Its just too bad the world is going to hell too fast for any recycling or cleanup to do anything productive.

sully from godsmack is wiccan. he shouldve cast a "let my band not SUCK" spell.

My dear young man, the people you went to school with were clearly idiots and there are Homosexuals of every Faith on the Planet, not just Wiccan. I use the term Wiccan very lightly in conjunction with those you went to school with and I won't even dignify things portrayed in a MOVIE with a response.

With attitudes like yours about "Reuse, Reduce, Recycle" - sure, it'll never seem to be doing a bit of good. It'll only be most effective if everyone does it, but that doesn't mean I'm going to give up or stop.

Not that it matters, but I had no idea Sully was Wiccan. Yep, Godsmack sucks SO bad, they haven't sold a single CD, nobody goes to see them at shows, and of course, we all know no Bands cover ANY of their tunes.
