What Song when heard drives you nuts?

Post by jangel »

What song drives you nuts that it makes you cringe when you hear it.

Mine is Meatloaf's By the dash board Light or whatever the fuck name it is. It drives me insane. I had it removed from my juke box because I could'nt stand it any more. and people would play it just to fire me up.

"Paradise By The Dashboard Light" isn't played quite as much as it was years ago, thank Heavens! I also got tired of that tune a long time ago.
"Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions" are tied for me right now. THERE ARE OTHER QUEEN SONGS IN EXISTANCE! (How about "Tie Your Mother Down"?) I have literally screamed when either of the 2 aforementioned tunes have come on the radio. :D

My wife hates "Dashboard," too.
"She's Come Undone" (guessing on title), by the Guess Who, just makes my skin crawl, as do many pop oldies from the late 60's-early 70's. It's a generational thing, I think. I don't mind other Guess Who songs, though.
Anything by Shania Twain, Kenny Chesney or Martina McBride (except her first record). Not country enough.
Broadway musicals make me ill, generally speaking, with some exceptions. Too uptown.
I tend to dislike types of songs rather than particular songs, but I'm always ready to be proven wrong on anything musical. I'll listen with impunity.--------->JMS

Kenny Chesney, I'm with ya Songsmith. his voice sounds exactly the same on every thing he does sort of like having a song that never ends. On his latest he calls himself a rock star. I don't think so.

Oh yea and anything U2 does.

Anything with Aron Lewis whining about how fucking sad and depressed he is. SHUT UP ALREADY!

For that matter, any song from the last 5-10 years that is about how mean their parents were to them and how "angst-ridden" they are. Rock and roll was about rebelling against the crap life gives and RISING ABOVE IT AND BEING STRONG. Quit fucking whining already - CHRIST!

There are MANY but I really hate I Like That Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger and how many many people love it and dance like dorks to it at every wedding reception I've ever been to. Sometimes twice. Am I the only person who hates that song? It would seem so....

Anything sung by Axl Rose.

Anything where Neil Young plays electric guitar.

It wouldn't be such a bad song if Tom Cruise hadn't ruined it.

There is a huge list, for me, but just naming one - SRV's Pride and Joy. I hate that song with a passion.

I'm pretty tolerant of just about anything musical these days, but as some Rockpagers already know, my Achilles heel song is "Blister In The Sun" by Violent Femmes. I usually cringe when any band breaks that out during a show, and that is usually the time when I either head to the rest room or go get another beer...

I think I agree with all of these posts.
but anything played on any pop music station sucks IMHO.
as well as the "worn out" classic rock songs.
I like classic rock songs that haven't been played on the radio 200 billion times.
Why not play Givin the Dog A Bone instead of Back in Black on the radio.
