DW Pacific drums...input please

Post by Craven Sound »

I've been looking at a new set of DW Pacific drums. Does anyone have any experience with them? I know they're not as good as the pro DWs, but I can't justify that much on a set of real DWs. Thanks to all.

DW pacific drums are nice. they have a deep sound to them. alot of new rock drummers use them and their sound accomadates alot of new styles of music. i would say for the money a set of those are you could get a better buy with a PEARL EXPORT SERIES a standard 5piece kit can be had brand new for about 700.00.

hey...Manny the drummmer from American Standard uses Pacific shells, and he has been blown away by them. He owned a Pearl Export set when we started playing, and he swears the Pacifics are ten times the set of the Pearls. He's a stickler for great sounding drums and perfect tunings, and he has been really pleased with the set. The tom suspension is a nice feature, and he went with the fusion kit, and it has worked well for him. I would recommend them, as I played drums for years, and I love his drumset.....Pearl and Tama are dying forces....hope that helps a little...just more moral support for Pacifics

Pacific Drums are outstanding for the money. Their most notable endorsers are Marina Axen from Drain STH and Mike Cosgrove of Alien Ant Farm. There's nothing wrong with choosing them over DW due to financial reasons, DWs are priced the way they are for very good reason! If you are looking for a good entry kit, I'd advise you to check the entry kits from Pacific, Pearl, Tama, Yamaha, and Sonor. Very good brands, all of them. Bottom line, choose what YOU like, and what YOU can afford. Tip: Take along a few of your cymbals when you try out some of the kits, especially your ride. Make sure that the drums will sonically "fit" with your cymbals!

What series of Pacific? I could only swing a set of EX, an almost novice set, but with how much I play, they're perfect.
