I know you must feel obligated to defend your girlfriend so no offense is taken here. As far as this being over, believe me, I wish it were...Christmas is coming and we could use the money we're owed.

Hey Rob,
I have'nt been on here for a while,so this may come as yesterday's news but Banditos have suffered the wrath of the "snub-car cafe". Our last show there was cancelled the night before the show, they called me and told me a corpoate decision was made THAT DAY to scrap Friday bands and replace them with of all things D.J. Richard-Cranium,the lies started then because they had already been running radio ads for the dj for 3 days. All that said,I don't blame Jess or Jerry for all the b.s. that goes along with playing there I just know that Banditos is most assuredly never going to be on that marquee again.Good luck your quest to get yours and I speak for Banditos in joining the boycott of that joint.

Just curious, is there anything going on at the Club Car these days? Any entertainment?

(There you go, bassist_25, I bumped the thread ... you need to cut down on the "beans" ... now pass that here ...)

I wonder if these beans that we're consuming came from Washington.

...and are they magic beans like Jack used in Jack and the Beanstalk?

Deejays, and as of last night, fighting...

(From WRTA's website:)

"Altoona Police were called to break up a brawl at a local lounge early this morning.

The fight occurred about 1:30 this morning at the Club Car Cafe at 29-15 Pleasant Valley Boulevard when Altoona Police were called to the scene. When they arrived, city cops found a large brawl and at least two separate fights taking place.

All on duty city Police were called to the scene the bring things under control. Three persons were arrested. Those suspects, who were not identifed, are currently facing charges and arraignment.

Police did not release any other details. No injuries were reported."

Yes, the DJs certainly do create quite a wonderful atmosphere for family fun ...

When will these clubs ever learn? Honestly, I don't feel sorry for this place. I do, however, feel sorry for the motel guests.

(P.S. If anyone from the Club Car is reading this, feel free to send a check for the 2003 Halloween show to Bad Daze, c/o Rob Carolus, 5005 Hillcrest Lane, Alexandria, PA 16611. Late charges of $7,000 apply ... LOL)

Yeah, that place sucks big time. We were stiffed at Fat Fredies on New Years for only $50 bucks but still stiffed. Go figure, we thought he was an upscale citizen of the community. :D Gotta get that shit on paper!!

Actually, a verbal contract is as legally binding as a contract on paper. The problem, whether it's verbal or on paper, is that you have to use the court system to get your money. Lawyers and your time usually cost more than it's worth.
... and then the wheel fell off.

It would've cost us 4 times the amount of the money due to recoup. The math doesn't pan out.

However, on the other side of the coin, sometimes bad publicity is more costly than PAYING YOUR F@#KING BILLS. :D

I would think you could add in the cost of attorney's fees to the settlement somehow - call it "punitive damages" or something.

*LOL*

The couple hundred of dollars the club was so greedy to hold on to that night is chump change compared to the money it lost when it could no longer book a band because of its reputation.

I don't know if I'm allowed back in there. Nor do I care to find out.

Rob, we can have a BADDAZEROBNEEDSTOPAYTHELIGHTBILL benefit show. Maybe the Club Car will let us do it there?

When was the last time you sent them a bill?

Since its 3-1/2 years overdue, there should be late charges and penalty fees.

We played there back then and went through a similar problem with no satisfaction from the local hotel and lounge management. After about 3 months and numerous calls and visits, I went to the hotel corpporate office management in Illinois that owns that hotel. After several back and forth messages, we finally got paid a few weeks after I went right to the top. All that crap over about $300 that they owed us.
