drunk off my ass driving a bike!

Post by feral »

All these beautiful bikes have me thinking do cops target bikers for DUI? What with all these "bike runs" cruising from bar to bar, do they pick on bikers? Must be a lot of drunkass bikers out there in the summertime! Just wondering.

I don't think they bother with bikes much cause even though alot of bikes end up at the bar, I think most do tend to watch a little. And if you do get drunk and wreck a bike you will most likely be the only one getting F^&*ed up.

I have never seen bikes specifically targeted. However...I have seen them nailed for burnouts and just being idiots (mostly along Pleasant Valley Blvd). For years I did a lot of big bike runs. Now I tend to stear away from them because of the number of people who drink to excess and ride. If I do go on a big run, I just keep my distance.

I once saw the Duncansville cop try to stop a poker run for running the red light at 22/0ld 220, ROFLMAO. We blocked side traffic and just kept right on going and there wasn't much he could do about it. Only a Duncansville cop would be anal and stupid enough to try.

I know way too many "riders" who's idea of a ride is going 10 miles to a bar, having a beer or 2, then going 10 miles to the next bar, ........... For most of them, it's just about being seen and trying to look cool.

When I go for a ride it's usually for the day. Rarely do I even have a destination. I usually just pick out a direction and go. I love to find cool, new, twisty roads to ride on. Rarely ever do I even have A beer, let alone get drunk and ride.

Most cops dont chase bikes when it comes to a speed chase because of causing a accident, but I have seen a few times cops pull over a bike and give a guy a DUI and the bike sit along the road until a flatbed come and haul it away

...When riding with shorts on and drinking. I have just two words for you..."PIPE BURN" -- it took me three years to get rid of the scar on the side of my calf...and yes, cops do actually pull you over on a bike sometimes.

I was riding back from State College one night, not long after I just got my first Harley (a little hammered with a big smile on my face, maybe going a little fast). As I make my way down Atherton, and wouldn't you know it...woo, woo, woo (lights flashing). So I pull over and begin to take my DOT approved half-shell off...no bike license, no bike permit, and my bike was out of inspection (ohh...but I had it insured). He asks me if I was drinking and where I was comming from. Ahh yeah, I had a couple at Zino's (I left out Hooters, The Den, The Rathskeller, and wherever else we were that night). He then asks me where I'm going. Ahh Altoona, I say (thinking to myself, he's never gonna go for this one). Next thing I know he's asking me questions about my bike (where I got it, what year it is, etc).

HE TELLS ME TO BE CAREFULL AND GET GOING! OK Officer, have a nice night I replied.

Moral of the story -- if you're drinking and riding, be on a Harley.

FYI -- THIS STORY IS IN NO WAY INTENDED TO PROMOTE DRINKING AND DRIVING/RIDING...YOU SHOULD NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE/RIDE. BE CAREFULL OUT THERE!

OUCH! That was mean...LOL.

So...A new place that is going to be HUGE for bikes this summer...The new Quaker Steak & Lube in State College. QS&L is know for its fabulous bike nights. The one in Sharon, PA gets an average of a few thousand bikes every Thursday night during the summer. Might be a good destination for a RP ride...what do you all think??
