Cops shave their heads? Do you mean like Kojak?feral wrote:Yes, cops are incurable altruists! Saintly folks. Right up there with the likes of Helen Keller and Mother Theresa.
Have you ever asked yourself why cops shave their heads?

There might be a few bad apples but for the most part they are all family oriented, educated VERY PATIENT people who work WAY to many hours for WAY to little pay.
Yankee sorry about your cop problems but cops have to follow rules and the only way to change things is to change laws. Criminals have the luxury of following NO rules. Cops get FIRED for breaking rules.
And a Cop not showing up for a traffic citation hearing is just that particular cop being nice to you.
Everyone hates cops TIL THEY NEED ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep. All swell guys. Everybody is just doing their jobs, right? Are you a musician, cruise? The PLCB is just doing THEIR job by throwing the book at any bar when an errant note finds its way outside. Right?cruseaudio wrote:YANKEE You are a broken record.
The Cops are there for the MAJORITY of the public. Sour grapes aren't going to change it!!!
Now as I have said before I have cops in the family, I know there are some bad ones. You are just starting to make yourself look really stupid here.
As you stated in your last post - you are or were a criminal, (the minority) if you will. So what do you expect?
If you are being grouped in with a bunch of criminals and you don't like it, stop telling people about it!!
IF you are mad that cops seem to single you out because of it, just remember when you group all of them in the "pigs" catigory that gives them the right to group you into the scum of the earth catigory.
How is it any different?
SAD

Other words heard in the same time period were..lonewolf wrote:Pigs? Sounds like a Charles Manson-ism.
I haven't heard anybody use that term since the mid 70s.
I thought "pigs" died with "groovy".
Then things have changed. My father use to work for County Control (i.e. a police dispatcher), and they had quotas.Bit*chenWomen1029 wrote:i
Someone said on here that the cops were trying to meet their quota for the month..... they dont have a quota to meet... like everyone thinks. Everyone think they have to have so many speeding tickets given each month...... well from what i understand they do not have this quota thing.

- Bag shouldn't have been drinking and driving. He objectively passed the sobriety test, and I'm sure he learned his lesson. Story Over.
- There are good cops and there are bad cops. But POWER MUST ALWAYS BE SCRUTINIZED, whether it's a politician or a police officer.
- I live in the same town as YR, and our local officer does some really good things and some really bad things. Most of my dealings with him have been pleasant, but I've seen him be a dick to other people for no good reason (Look in the archives and you'll see my story about an out-of-town band playing a gig here and getting harassed by our local officer).
- Moral elitism makes me laugh. I'm sure everybody that's posted on this thread has never done anything stupid.Drinking and driving isn't cool, but neither is pretending to be morally elite.

Good points, PH. I guess my point is expect a reaction to your actions and be willing to accept what you have to deal with. Of course, part of accepting consequences most of the time means admitting that you made a mistake.Punkinhead wrote:BadDazeRob wrote: As I tell my children, to paraphrase the Bible, you reap what you sew.

Not always true...If you look at life most individuals are given what they can handle more than what they deserve (barring something horrendous like blowing someone for crack). Yes, you will reap what you sew but, more often that not you will get more than what you sew because you can, in fact, handle it and your neighbor cannot.
As far as cops, they are like everything else in life. Take technology for example: It can be good (like an application that would help eliminate unnecessary surgery) or it can be evil (like getting hacked and having your identity stolen). Being a policeman is being in a position of power. That power can be good or evil, depending on the person who is in trust of it. There are good cops, there are bad cops. One thing is for sure, you all will see both and for anyone to group the entire group into either good or evil completely is asinine.

Agreed Rob. I really believe that when something goes wrong that if people would look at themselves first instead of blaming the world would be a better place. Most of the time when I screw up it's my fault, practically all of the time. I wish others would see that in themselves too.BadDazeRob wrote:Good points, PH. Some people can't do that and instead look to others for blame. It's OK to fuck up, as long as you learn from it. Assigning blame just teaches you to continue to assign blame, which eventually means never taking responsibility for anything.
Sure, there are times that everyone will get screwed over, but you can't use those instances to frame out how you deal with other disappointments in life. Recovering from any adversity and looking forward will only make you a stronger, more confident and successful person.
Yes, Spellbound, I am a parent.
