State College stabbing

Last night, I headed to State College to take in a band at The Brewery. I parked in the Pugh Street garage.

When I left The Brewery and headed back to the garage to get my car, a bunch of police cars and an ambulance were gathered around the Tony's Big Easy/Club Love area across Pugh street, and people were standing around. I figured it was a bar fight or somebody's 21st birthday bar tour run amok. The ambulance sped away as I entered the garage.

I just found out on the news that somebody got stabbed in the men's room at Club Love. I didn't hear the whole report, but it sounded like the victim may have died at the hospital. The suspect in the stabbing is in jail.

It's getting rough out there! Even State College isn't immune to the senseless violence any more!

For $15.00 you can go to the County Sheriff's Office at the Court House and easily get a carry permit. That is of course if you can answer all the arrest, drug and terriost questions.

You think this is bad - IUP is turning into a gang warfare zone. It all started back about 1996 and has continued getting worse. In 1996, there was a driveby shooting over homecoming. A year or two later a gentleman was stabbed on the tennis courts at IUP and died. Rapes are as common during homecoming now as studying is during the semester. The frats seem to have a least one drug overdose or suicide per semester. One frat brother shot a gun through his wall a year ago and hit his fellow frat brother. The brother was killed. This past homecoming there was yet another stabbing and neither participants were IUP students. They were just in the area taking in the homecoming activities. The person stabbed would later die 20 minutes or so after being taken to the hospital. The reason given for the fight/stabbing was due to the stab victim talking to a female friend of the stabber. This all started once IUP was declared the "IVY" league school of public universities. Things are just getting bad all over the place. It sucks that guys have to now follow their ladies to the restrooms and wait outside the woman's bathroom door from fear of something bad happeneing to her. Just walking on the sidewalks can cause problems while passing an overly intoxicated person who is looking to cause some trouble. Mouthing off starts and a sucker punch is short to follow. It happens every weekend one every campus.
