Former Clove guitarist Matt Macbeth passes away.

Post by Ron »

Matt Macbeth, former Clove guitarist, passed away yesterday leaving his wife Carrie, her 2 daughters and their 4 month old son. Matt had no insurance and we, his friends and fellow musicians, would like to help his widow with expenses.

Cards & memorial donations can be sent to:

Carrie Macbeth
c/o Susan Chwan
2509 Bogar Ave.
Harrisburg, PA 17110

Thanks to Gretchen of Something Fluid for bringing this sad news to my attention. We have a great community of musicians, and can help make a difference to people like Carrie and her family.
... and then the wheel fell off.

Anyone interested in possibly putting together some kind of benefit for this terrible tragedy? Even though I didn't know him, my heart and deepest sympathies go out to his family at a time of their loss. The Rockpage community of musicians should help them in their time of need.

It's quite possible that we could get the 4D's or Pellegrine's to provide the venue, since Clove played those two venues frequently when they played the Altoona area. I'll bounce the idea off Harry Jr. and Bobby this week and see what they think.

I spoke with Harry at Pelly's and he would like to host a benefit, he said just to let him know when everyone decides upon a date to hold it. Thanks Big John for the offer, perhaps we can organize a few benefit nights, given the number of bands and musicians who want to help out.

I thought of an idea with so many bands willing to help is rather than having a benefit on several different nights, why not find places in different areas and do the benefit all in one night. For example: So and so's night club in Altoona will have 3 or 4 bands play. Such and such's night club in Johnstown will have another 3 or 4 bands play. Etc....What's going to determine how many different places this will cover is going to be the people willing to volunteer and participate in this. There are a lot of pros and cons to this, however I think it would be something great for the Rockpage community to pull together on and help out the cause. Just thought I'd share it with everyone and see what your views were on it.
