From the Grimm: So long for now

Post by grimmbass »

Friends, following the sudden departure of our guitarist, Scott, The Grimm has decided to go on "inactive" status for the near future. After nearly 10 years of writing, performing, and recording, and spending the last year-and-a-half retooling, it is time for us to take a break. For the time being, the remaining members of the Grimm have chosen to pursue other musical ventures.

Regardless of what band or musical projects we are involved with, we hope to be in your company soon, on a stage near you. Please check in at www.thegrimm.com for future updates on what each of the individual Grimm-sters is up to!

The Grimm will be playing a final show before our "break"...an all-age event on March 11 at the Lion's Den in Juniata. Grimm alum "Otto" will reprise his role on the 6-string for this special show...details will be announced shortly.

Thanks so much for all of your love and support over the years....we will never forget the fun we've had and the friends we've made along the way. The Grimm is like a villain in a horror movie...they always come back for a sequel.

So long for now....

I can't wait to hear Lies, Inc.

I've always been struck by the difference in personalities onstage and off. Onstage, a snarling, chugging metal machine, all sweat and lather and focused attitude. Offstage? Sweet, well-spoken men with a vision of their art, a drive to match the vision, and a twisted sense of humor.
Here's wishing you all well, and hoping you come back around soon. Thanks, fella's.-------->JMS

Disappointing news to be sure. Thanks for the remarkable music thus far. Here's hoping there's more to come at some point down the road...

GOODBYE

Post by Imgrimm01 »

This news was as sad and hard to swallow for me as it might be for some of you, THE GRIMM has been my baby for 8 + years now and I poured all of my sweat and dedication into her, I liken this to losing a child, I tried everything I could to sustain her but to no avail, I thank ALL of you for your devotion and loyalty through the years, your smiles and kind words are what kept me going, I don’t know at this point what the future holds for me in the world of music but I will make you a promise, as soon as I know I will tell you, in hopes that you all too can share in it with me. Goodbye Grimm & Goodbye friends of THE GRIMM , I will miss you !
I'm glad I didn't have to fight in a war, I'm glad I didn't get killed or kill somebody, I hope my kids enjoy the same lack of manhood

The worst thing about seeing the Grimm break up is that they were one of the most talented groups I've ever seen around here. Bob, Kent, Ron, Otto, Dom, and Scott...What a group of extraordinary musicians and people. I'm glad I've had the chance to see all incarnations of the group. Thanks for the music guys!

As i am advancing in age rather rapidly, and after spending the best part of 30 years playing in bars, I don't do the late night thing much at all anymore. But one night I did venture out was to see the Grimm at Peter C's. What a fantastic night of music. Thanks guys and best wishes to you in whatever direction the muse leads.

I knew of the whispers of the Grimm going...and I'm sad in some ways and happy in others. They boys sound like they have a bright future ahead of them and new adventures. And if the Grimm gets back together, we'll all rejoice and come and slam about once more.

So.. for all your new projects, good luck.
For your old project, it will be missed and we are waiting for the revival.

And to the memebers, don't you dare fade away. I'll be sad if my friends go on hiatous with the band....

Me.

The forever Grimmette-in-Training...
(see, you guys have to reunite at some point in time..I have yet to become a full-fledged Grimmette)

I've only seen you guys in action once. It was fucking AWESOME!!!

Regardless of the lineup - I hope that The Grimm gets back out there at some time. I had a great night at Peter C's when the wife and I came out to see you guys!!!

Either way, I wish the best for all of you guys!! I only really know Bobby Lee (and I love you brother!!) and have met Kent a couple times, but I feel like I know both of you guys so well because of Rockpage (and because Bobby and I have been in tooooo many political debate posts!!)

Good Luck Gentlemen!!!
