I can't believe it played! I'd heard this before, YEARS ago, but had never seen the little cartoon.
It's STILL fucking funny!

the truth is, "fuck" is the strongest and most volitle word in the english language, a language that doesnt have enough words to afford not using some.. you can use "fuck" in so many ways it's hilarious..
i have the version that John Cleese did on cd somewhere - always a nice listen when im struggling to keep sanity sitting in Lebanon traffic during construction hahaha

George Carlin has his classic bit about the 7 dirty words you could not say on TV in the 60s and 70's. Of course he has a great take on Fuck and all the other dirty 6. If anyone can get a copy of that it would be great.
If I can remember a little of it..."tits, kinda remind me of tots, like tater tots.....tits, betcha can't eat just one."

*LOL*
I wonder what Captain Grammar would think of this presentation. It was very informative.
In all seriousness though, it is believed that "fuck" first originated during the English/French wars as a taunt towards archers.

Edit: I find bassist_25's signature funny, too...I never realized cheesburgers were "designed", or that they ever had any "intent"!

Yeah, we were off this weekend, which means I didn't get a chance to speak with old sKool. So I had to post something up in lieu of the weekly old sKoolism.
Of course, it would be even more funny if No Surrender weren't currently banned.

Ah, yes, you are correct. But I also believe that the middle finger was also accomapanied by the phrase, "Pluck you," which accounts for the relationship between the word and gesture.FretBored wrote:Actually that is the hand jesture given to the archers, mIm, since the British chopped off one of their fingers if captured.bassist_25 wrote:*LOL*

Wrong. If you read the rules we all abide by, NS was a Troll.
Period. Rules are rules. Most likely because everyone seemed to enjoy our "war", but I did not, I'd received word NS had been banned before anyone else. NS's silly questions in the one sound thread had a little something to do with it. If you read JP's Post announcing NS being banned, and basically what I was told, NS had "shot off their mouth to the wrong person". So, if NS private messaged and dissed on JP or Ron, NS was their own undoing. Am I happy about it? Yes and no. Yes, I'm glad we no longer have to deal with NS's totally negative CRAP, but also no - at first it was surprisingly sad to me that whoever it was couldn't simply live, let live, enjoy RockPage and allow everyone else to enjoy it, too. Keith, if you recall, there were times you'd also been not too pleased with NS. By the way, the message I received announcing NS's departure says, "Ding Dong the witch is dead". For that, I feel NS must have really "said" something bad to JP or Ron.

yeah, so ?
RP "battles" are hardly real life. i dont take it to heart. no one should. i would have NEVER voted to ban NS because we had words! was she given an ultimatum first? people are going to disagree. i can disagree with someone and even call them a jerkoff, and STILL like them and respect them. maybe thats just me...

I don't know where you were, but I recall NS being given suspensions in the past. I'd call those "ultimatums". If we'd ever met NS and not just had an idea of who they "might" be, things could very well have been different. NS wasn't interested in meeting or having fun with anyone here, just in having fun getting their jollies via trolling RockPage.
I agree, some people I consider my dearest friends are jerks.
Of course, I'm an admitted pain in the ass, so it can be said "birds of a feather flock together"!
