A new guitar

I love my wolfang.. Lots of low ends balls
But loses the crisp on the clean channel.
Looking for something new, Any suggestions?

I suggest you give me the Wolfgang then.

If you like to crunch out but still get some interesting clean tones, go for something with lots of tonal options. Getting a nice, sparkly clean tone out of a screaming bridge humbucker is damn near impossible. A PRS is a good choice. The 5-way switching on those is killer - all the coolest tones of a Les Paul and a Strat, all together. Although you can really do that with any guitar with two humbuckers, as long as it's wired for it. Ibanez and Schecter make guitars like that, and probably some others too.

I'll never get rid of the wolfgang.
But thanks for the ax suggestions
I was leaning toward schecter or PRS but I play like a mad man on dirty channel and can't keep anything in tune with out a lock nut.
I'm good for breaking a string every other time I play out.

I second the suggestion for a Jackson. But if you do get one, get one of the pre-merger Soloists.

Not that this isn't a topic for Tech Sector or anything, but did you try new pickups? Joe Barden once told me something that I'll never forget. You want your amp to provide the distortion, not your pickups. High-output pickups don't generally sound good on clean channels because they are distorting the signal too much.

I would have to say......Go with a Schecter guitar. Get a "006 elite". These guitars are very light and sound and feel awesome. I have 2 schecters, les paul, and a Ibanez and my Schecters are by far my favorite axes. I did drop a "screamin demon"in the bridge on the 006 elite. Best move I made. You wont be dissapointed if you get one.

If you are a lead player.......flip the pick-up switch to the neck position and enjoy a great tone for sweeping! For the money they are great.

Since you won't get rid or the Wolfgang, have you considered a pickup swap? By the sounds of what you're looking for, I would recommend active EMGs- an 81 in the bridge and an 85 in the neck. Or you could even take the route of two 81s. Here's EMGs link:

They should give you lots of crunch in distortion, but should also have crisp articulate highs when run clean. Can you say, "ZAKK WYLDE!"

I'm hearing a lot of people say switch pick-ups. And your right. I'm looking for that Zakk Wylde sound.... But not the Ozzy Or the BLS sound.. The Steel Dragon sound

Can you keep anything in tune WITH a lock nut? I don't think I've ever heard you in tune!!! Just kidding. Not only do you break strings, you stand on tables and spill beer!! A shot of firewater to ya!!!

Changing pickups will help but I also agree with Punkinhead. An 80's Charvel Model 6 or 650 xl can give you alot of different tones and they play just as nice as a USA Jackson. They have an active circuit with mid boost that allows you to go from a squeky strat tone to balls out bottom end and are neck through body construction. You can usually find them on ebay for around $500.
