Guitar Poll
Just out of sheer curiosity, what make and model of guitar/bass does everyone play? I just bought a Schecter C-1 Exotic and I'm extremely happy with it. Anyone want to share an opinion or story?

gibson or fender for me. i got an 88 hm strat with floyd for the usuall type of stuff. i got two tele's. one american delux and one squire set up with the config like an lp has. i use a gibson nighthawk a lot also. im currently shopping around for an lp. im looking at the lp custome if i can swallow the price tag. i run everything thru a line 6 hd147 and 1960 cab wich i love to death.
I'm not really comitted to any one name , but my B.C. Rich Body Art Collection Warlock has been very good to me and it isn't too fussy about being abused, and being abused quite often I might add! I like off the wall styles, sounds etc. Every guitar I might own ,be interested in and would love to have or play, must be different than anyone else's and sorta one of a kind. One of my dream guitars would have to be a Wolfgang Custom. I'm way to hard on my stuff to have a 2 or 3 thousand dollar guitar to play out on , so I prefer to play a more"mid grade" guitar around a 600 dollar version suits me just fine, but that's just me. You gotta be carefull though buy'n a cheaper instrament cause you get great ones and you get horrible ones. I'm all about take'n a "cheaper" guitar and tweek'n it to suit your own style of play'n as long as it's worth it to modify. You get what ya pay for and that's the bottom line.
A person is getting along the road to wisdom when they begin to realize that their opinion is just another opinion !

2000 PRS Custom 24
1976 Fender Starcaster semi-hollow with big fat Fender Humbuckers
1986 San Dimas Jackson Soloist Custom
1989 Gibson Flying V-90 Double
1993 Fender Montara Acoustic
Thats that black V with 24 frets, split diamond inlays, strings thru body v-plate and that custom dual humbucker pickup Dimarzio made special for it. Nothing sounds quite like it...

Ibanez SR 305
Ibanez SR 400 (fretless)
There's only one other bass that I want to own during my lifetime: Warwick Dolphin. Though, a Ritter would be awesome too (but I'd never drop that kind of coin on an instrument and then take it into a club).

You could run a Rogue through an Eden and it would still sound great. God, I love Eden stuff. I caught the Nightcrawlers the other night, and the bass player was running an Eden head through an SWR cabinet. Now that's a winning combination!!!slink wrote:For bass Fender Jazz with active EQ. Sounds great run through my Eden WT 400.

If you bass player types get a chance, check out the Acoustic Image Focus amps. The Clarus amps are great too, but knowing you guys, you'll want the extra watts in the Focus. Unreal clarity.
BTW, I got the Starcaster new-old-stock in 1986 for $495.
The last one I saw in similar condition to mine went on ebay for $3,100!

You gotta love the Harmony stuff. I have a Strat knock-off that was put out by Harmony. It's a surprisingly very nice instrument, though I think it needs a truss rod adjustment.
Remember all of the old generic guitar companies from way back when - stuff like Kay, Penco, etc.?

My Harmony 60s Electric is my go-to axe. The action and neck is slick and I like the sound of the older vintage pickups. Also very thin and light weight.bassist_25 wrote:You gotta love the Harmony stuff. I have a Strat knock-off that was put out by Harmony. I've heard a lot of good stuff about the AI and Clarus stuff. The Thunderfunks are good too. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: If I could, I'd have a 10 space rack full of nothing but preamps, with everything from a SansAmp to a Kern. One of my favorite preamps of all time is the Alembic F-1X. If I ever come across one for a good price, I'm going to snap it up. What I'd really like, though, is an SWR Interstellar Overdrive.lonewolf wrote:If you bass player types get a chance, check out the Acoustic Image Focus amps. I may possibly be in the market for a new bass cabinet. I was originally considering either an Ashdown or an Aguilar, but I discovered a really cool company called Low Down Sound. They make custom bass cabinets at very fair prices. And by custom, I don't mean that they have a bunch of options in a catalog that you pick; I mean that they literally make them custom to your specs. Check out their website. www.lowdownsound.com They have a really cool neo cabinet that I wouldn't mind having.

My brother will soon be playing this guitar:

It has an ash body with monkey grip and lion's claw Floyd route. The pickups are an EMG 81 in the bridge and a Dimarzio from a MM Axis in the neck. My bro does not use a middle single-coil, so I left it out with hopes of having Ken Wittman build a custom tuner to fit the cavity. The neck is from an RG120 I think- Not a Wizard, although, maybe some day. It has Grover tuners and Dunlop flush-mount strap locks. The paint job is pretty shotty, but from more than 5 feet away, it looks flawless. A big thanks to Mr. Michael Zolnoski at Music Emporium for coming up with his own wiring scheme- Vol and Tone for each p/u, 3-way selector switch, and a coil tap for the Dimarzio. He also got the lowest action I've ever seen on a guitar with absolutely no fret buzz.
It has become known as the Vai-Halen (w/ a touch of Petrucci). Musicians Friend is now carrying Joe Satriani signature straps, so that will put my bro's 4 favorite guitarists all in one guitar!

I have:
1. Schecter S-1 Elite. This guitar is super light. Its like holding a piece of paper!. The bridge pickup is soon to be replaced with a "screamin demon." This guitar also looks great! Black Cherry in color.
2. Schecter 006 elite. This guitar is also super light and extremely tough!. I replaced the stock bridge pickup with a screamin demon and now i am super happy! The neck is fast.... like playing on glass! Also black cherry in color.
3. Les Paul "Gothic". This guitar is opposite of the schecters. This damn guitar, like other les pauls, are a TANK! I can only handle playing this guitar for a short period of time out. Its great if your into todays crushing guitar tunes. The stock pickups are super high gain. too much for my taste these days! Im currently looking to replace them but im not sure what to install. If anyone out there has any input.....lemme know!
4. Ibanez rg 470. This guitar was one of my first axes. Not real happy with it these days. On the back burner, Tore apart, awaiting decision on whether or not to restore. The only guitar i have with a floyd rose, which I do miss.
Off topic but gotta ask!........Anyone ever hear of a "Peavy T-30?" I use to have one but sold it at a garage sale for $50 about 10 years ago. I had it out five minutes before someone bought it. Wondering if I should punch myself in the nutz?????? I never could find anything about this guitar
Thanx,
Chris

I had a Kent that had 4 pickups with slide switches. I couldn't remember the name of it until you posted it. That was my big move up from Teisco. I also had a Silvertone amp that was like a Twin Reverb.slink wrote:bassist_25 wrote:You gotta love the Harmony stuff. I have a Strat knock-off that was put out by Harmony.
