Masterbation always helps. As the saying goes, "when masterbation's lost its fun, you're fucking lazy."

If you have a room in which you normally write, try cleaning, organizing and rearranging the room. I always find that an uncluttered atmoshpere inspires me to create. I don't know why, because I hate cleaning.

Just don't even think about music for a few days. Sometimes I'll take a break from drumming for a few days, then when I sit behind the kit, it feels really good. Burning out is far too common in music and its cool to take a few days away sometimes. You'll be just sitting there and all the sudden you'll hit a creative nerve.

Ron ,that is a great response! I do have a room for that and the Mrs. moved her tread mill in there along with some other crap and it sucks. It's like I'm being invaded by crap , I haven't been in there for about a month. I hate clutter also maybe some cleaning is in order. She must not see my point of have'n only a few things in there , like you said uncluttered is much better.

Alot of this has helped me out lately, I mean really, it has ! 8)
I've been getting a shitload of ideas over the last couple of days and I about have a new tune written, plan to work on some of the guitar parts today as a matter of fact. Thanx all. :D

This is a cool topic and I hope it might help someone else too. 8)

The two things that I do when I get in a rut are put the instrument away or jam with someone new. Putting the instrument away just frees you from the pressure of needing to create something while jamming with someone new opens up a whole new avenue that you might not have gone down before.
