My first concert was Def Leppard at the Civic Arena (right after Steve died) for the Adrenalize tour.

Bob Seger at the old Altoona High gymnasium in maybe 1975...all he had out was Katmandu. Hardly remember the show. No, I was straight...

My first concert was Maiden on the World Slavery Tour in Pittsburgh.
It was my first experience with Maiden and also with pot.
I barely remember much because I was only like 11 years old.
My good friend's older brother took us cause he didn't want us to turn into posers. Needless to say I was hooked on Maiden from then on.
To this date I have attended at least 10 Maiden shows.

The first concert I went to on my own was Triumph with White Lion opening.(It was supposed to be Yngwie Malmsteen but he cancelled.)
White Lion was very new and nobody had a clue who they were. We all thought we had just been to a Van Halen show.
Triumph kicked ass though. Great sound, lights and stage too.

All this before I even picked up a guitar.

Wow, I haven't heard Artful Dodger in forever. I actually have a album by them.

The 1st concert I saw was Kansas and Ambrosia at the War Memeorial in like "74". The 2 things I remeber was that Kansas was absolutely amazing and black hash gets you ABSOLUTELY STONED!

First, Bullet Boys/Winger/Cinderella, War Memorial, 1989. BulletBoys and Cinderella were great, Winger blew chunks; I didn't like them much to begin with, but hearing them with a terrible sound mix was almost unbearable. As mentioned on here before (last time this thread was around?) the highlight was the piano being lowered from the ceiling with Tom Kiefer playing it during one of their power ballads.

Favorite, Halford/Queensryche/Iron Maiden at the Starlake, what was that, 2000?

My first concert was Creed and Stereofuse. I was standing right in front of Tremonti during the whole creed show, that kicked ass. What i didnt like was how much of a jerk stapp was being, swearing like crazy and being a total asshole overall. They did have a lot of EN_ER_GY, no LAZERS, just Flames. Lots of fuckin flames...and i was wearing a sweater, and roasting my testicles off.

Ahhh yes, I remember this very well. Faith No More, Metallica and Guns N' Roses on July 26th, 1992 at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh.

I remember it was hot and it rained off and on. All the bands were amazing. It was a lot of fun.

M o o n spells busted! I was trying to forget that one! The show, not the company. If fact in a previous thread I think I incorrectly posted that that was Tammy Wynette show. I must be trying to block that out.

My first concert was also the Ozzy - Motorhead show at the War Memorial in '80.
I skipped school to go.
... and then the wheel fell off.

Lou Reed at the Stanley in Pitt.

He wrapped Mic cord around his arm above the elbow while singing Heroin and you can guess the rest.

Next song White Light White Heat.

That concert was a Walk on the Wild Side.

Bag wrote:. Some band called Duke Jupitor opened for BOC. I wish I could remember the name of the band that opened for The Outlaws because they were a real kick-ass southern rock band. I had an 8-track of them that's long gone, and I'd love to try and find it again. One of the guys names was Brookshire, and they had a song called Moonshine Runner. That's all I can remember! Anyone know who they were? Woulda been around 1980.
Got curious so I searched on the net and found the band... "Doc Holliday" ... I actually never heard of them but they have a ton of albums out from 1981-2005

Here's their web site
http://www.capitalinternet.com/~docholli/index.html

Haven't heard any new Southern Rock in awhile, maybe I'll try to find an old CD of theirs..

As for first concerts.. I was lucky enough to have an older brother who had 2 Tix for AC\DC's Highway to Hell tour (1979) at the old Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh.... He got in a fight the day of the concert with his girlfriend and had to take his 13 year old brother.....
Of course he wasn't totally cool... I never got a tour shirt cause the $20 mom gave me went for beer... but not a bad first concert all in all....

It was cool to read all the post though... I remember being at most of the ones mentioned here.... Wasn't SB from Skid Row arrested for throwing a Vodka bottle into the audience?

Peace,
