Today's word of the day "paladin"
paladin \PAL-uh-din\, noun:
1. A knight-errant; a distinguished champion of a medieval king or prince; as, the paladins of Charlemagne.
2. A champion of a cause.
This my friends is what I am. I am a paladin of the English language.

Cecil was a pretty cool paladin in Final Fantasy 2 (4 in Japan), but I thought he was cooler as the dark knight. Still, there's probaly no way you could have kicked Zemus' ass as the dark knight. But Kain was my favorite character from FFII.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

You know I just had a revelation. Let us look at one of the most popular songs of all time.
How much more interesting grammatically would it have been had Queen called their song "We Are The Paladins"? We English scholars would have done backflips for such a grammatical statement.
"No time for losers.. cause we are the paladins"
Interesting to ponder that I must say.

Final Fantasy Kicks ass, and yeah, cecil did rule, with his pink and purple hair and white robes. Final Fantasy II, to this day, remains my favorite one. I actually have it in my PS1 upstairs, but ill be damned if i ever get a chance to play it.bassist_25 wrote:Cecil was a pretty cool paladin in Final Fantasy 2 (4 in Japan), but I thought he was cooler as the dark knight. After examining some more music, I thought perhaps if we took a negative song written by "Beck"; we could use the word paladin to make it positive.
This song was originally titled "Loser."
I'm a paladin baby: so why don't you love me
What a nice ring! I don't think thats the vibe he was going for, but at least I can sing it in my head the rest of the day.
