Doctors vs. Guns
contributed by John 2005

Doctors:

The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000
Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000
Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171
Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.

Guns:
The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000
The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500
The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.
Statistics courtesy of F.B.I.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

FACT: Not everyone has a gun, but almost everyone has at least one doctor.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat immediatly. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!

Note: Out of concern for the public at large, the statistics on lawyers have been withheld for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

That is interesting - I wonder myself!! I usually like a glass of Merlot with my steak ( and it has to be rare), but Chocolate Beer sounds like it might work!!

Nothing about guns here...
you must look in right place!

"The United States leads the world's richest nations in gun deaths -- murders, suicides, and accidental deaths due to guns - according to a study published April 17, 1998 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the International Journal of Epidemiology."

http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/ ... lekey=6166

yes america has the most gun related deaths IN THE WORLD, but if you look at statistics, 7 out of 10 canadians own guns and their gun related deaths for the past few years have all been in the single digits. and canadian gun control is far more laxed than americas. what does that say? are guns really bad? or just we americans? guns are inanimate objects they cannot be good or evil. guns dont go off by themselves, its a living person that must pull the trigger, say maybe the poor kid in high school that everyone made fun of, or the postal employee that just cant take it anymore. when have you ever heard of a gun walking into the post office or high school and taking out 6 people?
finger deep in the borderline, show me that you love me and that we belong together, relax turn around and take my hand...

I see that things are progressing nicely on YOUR topic NS ! Now to answer your question about the bazooka, HELL YES ! If I were allowed to have one I would ,for what you might ask ,I don't know for sure but it would be bad ass! I guess I could take out some barrels or something in a controled launch of course, once again there is the saftey factor and not to mention the responsibility you would most certainly need to use it. I would have to use barrels insted of milk jugs for the bazooka for obvious reasons. I never said "well the bad guys got em so I need one too" cause I don't for that purpose any ways, but if I did I could cause you see not just any shmuck can carry a gun LEAGALY but, I'm one of the many who can! I hunt and shoot mark and that's my primary reason for owning several guns. I save some serious dough by taking a couple of deer each year and with two kids ,a wife, house payment, GAS (2.50/gal. still sucks the life right out of you) and not to mention various other bills, yeah you could say those guns serve my purpose well any any money they can help me save might help keep my family fed and free up some cash for heating oil in the winter time. I think I'll go kiss them and tell them how much I love them and thanks for being there for me when I need them most. I've said enough for now, now it's your turn again!

And on a musical note...EVERYBODY join in ....la la la

Happiness is a warm gun
Happiness is a warm gun mama
When I hold you in my arms
and I feel my finger on you trigger
I know nobody can do no harm
Because Happiness is a warm gun mama
Happiness is a warm gun, yes it is
Happiness is a warm, yes it is, gun
Ah, don't you know that
Happiness is a warm gun mama
...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...

Grammar wrote:What I do find intriguing is the fact that you call yourself No Surrender. I am sure Cliff could expand on this a little more, but unless you carry a spear, numchucks or other similar weapon, you are unarmed and perhaps would be made to surrender.

Your stances on many issues are puzzling because of your choice of name. Willing to Surrender might fit you better my friend.

Zman, great post and with the Kennedy post, you are SO spot on the mark.

How many communist countries have gun ownership by the average citizen?

Citizens in communist countries have 2 things in common:

no guns

no freedom
