Where will you watch the Steelers win?
Where will you watch the Steelers win?
At home? Local bar? Party at a friend's? Where will you watch the superbowl?
We'll be at The Popper of course...serving beer and wings and playing QB1 against the customers. I sure hope I can win for a change.

They do that because rednecks like us say "Stillers" instead of "Steelers". Basically, they pick on us because we are the section of the United States that wears bicycle helmets and say "YAAAY". We are the in the Special Section.AtoMikEnRtiA wrote:ok i gotta ask.. ive heard and seen this for far too long and now i gotta know..no surrender wrote:no fun watching at home..

It is near Tampa and there is a place there called the Sponge Docks, it is a little Greek section of town right on the Gulf. They still actually dive for sponges from the boats there. But check out all the Greek and other ethnic restraunts you will love it there. They also have a lot of cool little shops as well , but definitley check it out while you are there as it's well worth the drive.

JP when you are down there, go check out a place called Tarpon Springs.Someplace in Zephyrhills, Florida (near Tampa), probably at the house I'm staying at, or at a nearby restaurant or bar that's showing it.

And to answer the original question of this thread, I will be watching the game at home (or in the hospital) unless somebody invites me to a party.

Oh yeah, the original question!
I haven't been invited anywhere either, so my children and I will most likely watch the STEELERS Win at home too.
Whoo, that "Pittsburghese" is something else! My dad had been born and raised there, but he never said "yinz". "Ah" for "ow" or "ou" in most words containing them, yes. "Warsh" instead of wash was another one.
However, he pronounced "really" and STEELERS correctly. Too bad they don't have a test - I wonder what "part" of Pittsburgh his "ese" would say he was from? My grandma spoke of Shadyside and I know they lived on the North Side for a while - he got in trouble when he broke a window in the Frick greenhouse with a baseball.
Where the Orphanage he'd spent time in had been, he wasn't certain. He thought it had been near Oakmont - a quaint little area with brick lined streets. We took a tour down his memory lane one Summer and visited numerous places after the Carnegie Museum.
Starr, think positively, the STEELERS are going to Win!
GO, GO, GO, GO, GOOOOOO STEELERS!!!

Yes I will remain optimistic.
They SHALL win.
#43
I don't know about Williamsburg either, other than their football team has been beaten by the Black Knights.

Aaaaah YES, #43! What a sight to behold,

Where will I watch the Steelers win?
FANTASY LAND, because that is the only place that it will happen!
Ok, not really. I'm just very, very tired of the insipid Steeler fight songs that are being played in seemingly every radio station on about a five minute rotation. It is almost enough to make me a Seahawk fan. Almost.

Blain, I hear you about the STEELERS' fight songs, especially the :cringe: Polka from the '70s! As much as I loved hearing the GREAT ONES of the '70s and '80s mentioned, when I heard it I thought I was in HELL. Polkas make my skin crawl. If I never hear it again it'll be too soon! There's one based on "Detroit Rock City" - "Detroit Steel City" that's pretty good and a sort of Rockabilly/Rap/Country one that isn't too bad either. However, I do understand everyone's emotions and why they're being played so much. (EXCEPT for the Polka, sheesh!) WE'RE IN THE SUPER BOWL, WHOO HOO!!! GO, GO, GO, GO, GO, GO, GO, GOOOOOOOOOO STEELERS!!!
