He started out as the guitar player for" ten years after" at the time he was said to be the fastest and best ( as the legend goes) until a man called Jimi hendrix came along and kinda de-throned him.
"Goin home" I think is one of there best, It shows his speed and accuracy for the fret board, plus it was the late 60's and early 70's so for that time he was a little ahead of his time.
There other popular hit was" I'd love to change the world" ten years after

Alvin gets a gold star for writing a song called "50,000 Miles Beneath My Brain". Acid does weird things to you.
I once read an interview with Hendrix talking about Woodstock, and he said he was jealous of how good Alvin Lee was. That's a pretty high compliment! Having said that, Tens Years After sounds very dated these days, so expect a major psychedelic time warp when you listen to their stuff.

I'd love to change the world ,cause I think it SHIT it's pants!
All joking aside very clean ,fast ,and tastefull in my opinion only.
I believe since every-one's taste is different you can get many opinions of the same work.
I find nobody seems to like anybody untill somebody says they are good.Does any-one understand what I,m trying to say?

I saw Ten Years After a few times in the 70's and they always were unbelievable.
Maybe the best song to showcase Alvin Lee speed guitar playing is a song called "WoodChoppers Ball" (which is actually a cover of an old swing era tune).
There was a time he was considered the fastest guitar player in the world. Another great blues song he did was a cover of "Little School Girl", which was very popular in the late 60's on FM.
My favorite blues song of his is "I Woke Up This Morning" which he did at Woodstock before he closed with "Going Home".
Check out the Woodstock dvd and you can see for yourself if he was fast.
I'd say he was one of the original shredders.

What about Alvin Lee? Is his stuff worth getting?no surrender wrote:What about Alvin Lee? His stuff worth getting?
After you young bloods take historical grounds into consideration, you may also want to take a look at your roots. By doing so, you would be paying some respect and such. Do you understand?no surrender wrote:

You're welcome.
Grammer,
You must have absolutely nothing better to do with your life.
I know you have some kind of superiority complex.
Do you have a real job?
Have you had sex in the last 5 years?
Does your home look like the 40 year old virgin's?
You should hang out with my friend SATAN. He'll get you out of your rut.
