Songs that sound the same cont....

Post by AugaDiFlow »

Heres my input all nicklback songs are all the same
Creed minust their first album sound the same
the nixons "sister" a touch dif but exactly same as black by pearl jam
almost all modern music sounds the same w/ exceptions to Tool, Incubus, Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, Coldplay ect...
actually if you think about it most of the blues is repeats w/ different words and improvs...
i dont know thier name by they sounded exactly like Tool....

Bottom line...this is off the subject but when is thier gonna be new music everyone sounds just like each other anymore and if they dont the band normally just sucks...there is 500 bands now that are like Blink182 6000 bands like nickleback...and we wont even go into emo...

One thing you should know NS there are no limits what so ever in music especially on a guitar ,just listen to some Vai ,Satch, Yngwie..ect! I think more of today's music sounds the same than most of the 80's and alot of it was very similar. Everybody wants to capitalize on the other guys success and what's selling at the present time. That's why you don't hear as many solos as you did back in the day!

To be grammatically correct this sentence should read as follows: Here's my input: All Nickleback songs are the same. It's also interesting to note that the band Nickleback purposley misspells their name, much like Dream Theater.

The most efficient way to construct these ideas would be to use a bulleted or numbered list. This feature is intergrated into the forum software. "Minust" should be "minus"; "nixons" should be capitalized, as well as "sister","black", and "pearl jam"; "dif" should be "different". "Ect." should read "etc."

Actually if you think about it, most of the blues is repeats with different words and improvs.

Also, there is no need for an ellipsis in this sentence. A single period will suffice.

I don't know their name, but they sound exactly like Tool.

This sentence is interesting because you are speaking in past tense. This implies that the band is now defunct. I was unsure of your intent in this sentence, so I rewrote it in present tense. Also, I believe the band you are speaking about is Chevelle. Isis is also often compared to Tool, but their music is much more aggressive.

Bottom Line - This is off subject. When is there going to be new music? Everyone sounds just like each other; if they don't, the band normally just sucks (note: consider synonym for the word "sucks"). There are 500 bands now that are like Blink-182; 6000 bands like Nickleback; and we won't even go into emo.

The primary problem I have with this sentence is that there is no subject or verb. Though technically it has no verb to modify, "amazing" is used as an adverb in this context. "Me" is a direct object. The correct way to construct this sentence would be as follows: It (subject) is (verb) amazing to me that more songs don't sound alike given decades of modern music and limited chords, notes, and stuff.

It is up to the writer's discretion whether to omit the final comma in the series. Most newspaper print does not feature the final comma.

Grammar, I for one would like to say "thank you", as I've wondered for years about the comma before an and in a series. It's been almost 24 years since I had any type of English Class and not remembering if it's correct, I've fought the urge to put one there for a long time. That was most likely due to newspapers and magazines, as you mentioned them not using it. Now thanks to you, I know that it's okay! It will feel so good to put that comma in.

At first I thought, "WOW, no surrender made a cognitive comment!", but then it quickly dawned on me that it simply loosely plagarized others' ruminations from the Thread of the same Topic.
