.OO Buck on Myspace

Post by songsmith »

Not sure if this post goes here, if not, admin., please move it.

.OO Buck has a Myspace site... it just went up today, and is under construction, so check it out in it's temporary form. Also, if any of you have pics from Buck shows, please contact me so I can upload them. As soon as I figure out how, I'll have it converted to a band site, so we can add mp3's and such, but for now, add us as a friend, and we'll return suit. Keep checking back, as I'll be working on it a lot this week. Thanks, guys.

My quote is a Huntingdon County thing all the way. For those of you outside Raystown Country, Hunt. Co. was a favored destination for Fresh Air Kids, an organization that takes disadvantaged children from the New York City ghettos and brings them to the country for a few weeks in the summer. They learn about country life, and we learned about life in the Big City from them. As farm kids, it was traditional for us to take them out in the dark and teach them about hunting "snipes," a nocturnal bird that can easily be caught in a gunny sack by making a certain bird call or banging two rocks together. There is, in fact, a bird called a snipe, but they are not nocturnal, are not catchable in sacks via bird calls, and are not delicious to eat. The purpose of the hunt was to scare the living bejingles out of 'em by hiding and jumping out at them screaming. My mother once played the same game on me, but she said she heard a Whompus Cat, a fictitious feline who mauled little boys who don't come in from playing when the pole light comes on. It's a country thang!
Thanks for stopping by the Myspace site!---------->JMS
