Skid Row Show
For those that missed the Skid Row show at Shooters last night missed a GREAT time!! We found out a day or so before the show that a third band, Kreep, was going to open for them as well. After our set, we had 20 minutes to get our gear off stage for Kreep to go on. They played about a 1/2 an hour's worth of original material, which pounded!! Kreep was HEAVY and loud. They ended their set with a heavy version of Crazy Train. Irregardless to whether the people didn't know their material, their musicianship was all there. I was surprised at Skid Row's set because I really didn't know what to expect with their new lead singer. However, they didn't disappoint the crowd at all. They played most of the classics people came there to hear and also did some current stuff. These guys were on top of their game, that's for sure. I know Sebastian is irreplacable, however, John did a great job covering everything. He was a very solid frontman in my book. Skid Row brought down the house and everyone left satisfied.
The only complaint I have is how loud everything was. This was not because of Jesse's sound company, since he didn't mix any of the bands. Skid Row's sound tech, I'm sure made ears bleed at the volume they were at. I tip my hat to Jesse's crew for handling everything the way they did. VERY PROFESSIONAL and extremely easy to work with. The PA was huge and was more than enough to handle the job.
We had the pleasure of hanging out with the band for a little bit before they left and they were a great crew. They were down to earth, not like some of the nightmare bands with attitudes you hear about. As soon as I get a copy of the picture of Skid Row and Retro together, I'll post it.
I'd like to personally thank Shooters for bringing Skid Row in and also for giving us the opportunity to open for them, Jim Price for stopping out to capture the moment (Being in front, I'm sure he has some great pictures to share with everyone), and all our friends that came out to support us at such an event.

AGREED: Skid Row at Shooters was indeed a good time. More national bands should follow Skid Row's example, and take the show back to the people and remember where they came from. Skid Row was all about the fans and having a good time. As Facing West said, John wasn't Sebastian Bach, but what he lacked in vocal range he made up for in enthusiasm and rapport with the fans. Thanks also to Onetooloud for the free earplugs, you no doubt saved me from a week's worth of dealing with ringing eardrums!

I was wondering why I hadn't heard about Skid Row playing, then I looked at the date of the OP, haha
I still count Skid Row as one of my top favorite 5 bands & Slave to the Grind as having one of the best guitar tones ever recorded.

You know it, bro!
I remember listening to Wasted Time, Slave to the Grind, & In a Darkened Room CONSTANTLY when I first got the album, & the fact that I can still listen to them over & over today says something.
