Stolen Gear

Post by ASB10 »

Just a heads up to anyone who happens to shop on Ebay....

I had my rig stolen from the cab of my truck Saturday night/Sunday morning. Usually I always bring my gear in, and also lock my truck, but arriving at home at 4:30 after a show in Johnstown, I forgot to do either....and paid for it. Luckily, my insurance will cover the stolen gear, as well the cd's, tool box, and assorted other stuff.....

Anyways.....I contacted all of the local music shops, and I have also been looking on ebay for my gear. SO....

If you happen to see a white Mexican strat with hardshell case selling anywhere in PA, please let me know....it's the sentimental reasons that I want this guitar back, not the financial......it has several chips in the body and is getting well worn from over 300 shows and countless practices, so it looks used.....

Also, I had a Fender 65 amp that was stolen......

SO if anyone happens to see them....please PM or email me...thanks.....

Damn thieving bastards......

Yeah they must. I have known 2 other musicians get their stuff ripped and they came home in the 3 am time also.

My car was broken into when I lived in Toona, surprisingly the cop cought him and this was around 3:30 to 4 am. The Altoona policeman who cought the kid (BTW a 20 yr kid on heroin) said that 3 to 4 am is the perfect time for these punks, that's when we are in the deepest sleep and do not hear the noise they might make.

Kinda spooky to think about who is wandering around on our streets in the wee hours of the night.

   Thieving phucks! Here's hoping you have the same luck Urbs did last year when his git'r was stolen. The wife and I use Ebay quite a bit so I'll definitely keep the search going....

Good Luck!!

I’ve noticed that a lot of guitar shops refuse to sell used gear these days since all of these drug robberies have become so common. In fact I know an owner of a guitar shop who recently got “taken” when the cops showed up. After it was all said and done, he paid $2 K in legal and court costs, not to mention that the guitars were confiscated.

It’s a shame, because I don’t like buying brand spankin’ new stuff.

i leave the alarm on in my pt cruiser if i have something as stupid as a pen in there. I left a shitload of cd's in my dodge spirit one time, no alarm in the car, lost almost $700 worth of cds. People are assholes, and this is what drug addiction does to you.

Yeah, I used to think about that a lot when I used to carry CD's in my car. Then I started burning CD-r's of everything and just carrying them in a binder. I figured, if someone took that I'd still have the originals. Now, I have an MP3 deck so it's definitely not so much of an issue.

I usually always lock my car, but on the night that my camera got stolen in November, we had rain during the day and it got very cold at night, freezing the lock on my driver's side door. Once I thawed the lock, I had to leave that door open when I went to Peter C's and King's Family Restaurant later that night (so the lock wouldn't re-freeze). While I was in King's, between 2:30 and 4 AM, somebody entered my car and stole my camera, in a CD case. If you leave your guard up for just a few hours, it's enough opportunity for some idiot to enter and rob your vehicle.

This is my answer to theiving pricks!

I have a sleeping disorder and am usually up all night with my SW40VE in my belt.

Hope you get your shit back man. I'll look out for the Fender.

ASB10, I hope you get your gear back, especially your Strat. I can totally relate to things that have great sentimental value, which are therefore priceless to the person they belong to, being lost, kept from them or stolen. It sucks and whoever did it will pay, one way or another..."what goes around come around", or so I've heard. Unless they give it back like a decent Human Being would and should. All I can say on that is, good luck and best wishes in finding it.

Fretbored, NICE piece! :D

If ASB10's Strat is found "For Auction" on E-Bay and the Police are notified, will they be able to find out who it is and arrest the prick?

If you are talking about car comprehensive, DON'T TELL THEM THAT YOU PLAY FOR MONEY.

Professionals' musical equipment is not covered by regular car insurance...they want you to buy business equipment insurance.

already with you Lonewolf.....the claim is filed under my homeowner's policy....it would not covered under my auto policy since, according to State Farm, "they are not items that would normally be found in a vehicle"....but it was all covered under my policy......except for a damn $200 deductible......

It's sadly nothing new. When I was 19 years old...1979...I hd a 1972 Fender Jazz bass , a Fender Basman 10 amp and a suitcase full of mikes n cords stolen.
They got my brother's Fender Tele and his Fender amp too.
Left the drums sitting in the rain...
Nothing new , but it still makes you feel a little more violent towards these creeps.
