play the same game they did against Indy.. simple as that..

yeah, i said it - i NEVER expected Pittsburgh to be that effective against Indy, and after watching that game, as disgusting as it is for me to say this.. its going to take a hell of an effort by Carolina if they make it to beat Pittsburgh, because i dont think Seattle or Denver can..

Although they rely on the pass a bit more, they have a solid, balanced offense. Plummer can burn you deep if he gets enough time, but then they have a stable of running backs that can burn you up front.

Pittsburgh will have to use a flexible defense that can bring pressure on Plummer and prevent the run. This can be done by keeping two linebackers at home for the run and adding a safety blitz. Very similar to what they did to MelonHead, but they will have to pay more attention to the running backs. In any event, the DBs are going to have to deal with a lot of man coverage.

Pittsburgh's O is exactly what you need to beat the Broncos. Open up Ben early, get some points and establish the run game. If you have the lead in Q4, put Bettis in and turn on the meatgrinder.

One thing about the 4th quarter meatgrinder. They really need to add some easy high% passes over the middle to keep possession. They cannot sustain a drive against playoff teams with nothing but running plays.

Oh yeah...oxygen...they'll need lots of oxygen. Broncos are 9-0 at home.

This one's going to be close.

AtoMikEnRtiA, how do you like your Crow? Only kidding and I almost never say this, but we told you so. :D

As long as the Refs are fair, I feel "very" Positive about our guys beating the Broncos.

lonewolf, the Broncos may be 9-0 at home, but the Steelers are hungry and ready. Not many experts had picked the Steelers yesterday, nor expected what they saw. Also, a 6th Ranked team had never gotten this far. I rest my case. :)

First - BadDazeRob, that Flag is a riot!

I agree, more passing would be great, but I say only as long as the Refs aren't being asses, are doing their jobs fairly and calling Pass Interference if it's occurring...if they're not and there's a chance of Interception?
No way. That's possibly one of the reasons Ben stopped passing so much in the 2nd half yesterday.

I think any Bronco fan is being very contemplative right now. I mean, they've had a pretty good season up to now and should be happy and content with that. :D

Um, yeah, OK. Hungry maybe, ready? Maybe not.

Here's a little nugget that you have to factor in when playing in Denver. Denver plays in Mile-High Stadium. There is a significant difference in air-pressure at 5000 feet above sea level. The Broncos live and practice in it...their opponents do not. The Broncos are used to the thin air, their opponents are not.

Most teams take oxygen with them, but that is usually not enough as they start losing steam by the 4th quarter. The Steelers are one of the few teams that can win in Denver.

The only way to really prepare for the game is to practice in Denver this week. Are they there yet?

 Lonewolf, I'll agree, they may not be ready "Altitude wise".
:) I do hope they are either en route or will be there by tomorrow.
If not, they're being very foolish.

I've been looking in to this since it was determined that Denver would host should Pittsburgh beat Indy, and from what I've seen and read, "altitude sickness" really doesn't begin to take a serious effect until after a person has been exposed for several days. Don't know if this is true but it's what I've read.

From what I've been able to find out, the Steelers are not leaving for Denver until Saturday afternoon, so if the above is true, it shouldn't be a factor.

Of course, I'm sure the team doctors are already on this case.

Thanks BadDazeRob. :) Being that the team doctors and trainers have taken such good care of them all season, well enough that the majority of the team is now fit and healthy, I now feel they know best and will advise them on the proper course of action. From here on out, it's only "Positive thoughts"
about the Steelers for me! :D

I wish I had the lyrics to the unique Steelers' tune Norman Nardini was singing Saturday night. Oh well...

The symptom that I am worried about, oxygen distress, can happen as soon as you get off the plane. I think what you have been reading about is acclimatization, or the body's gradual adjustment to the lower atmospheric pressure. It can take several days for your body to adjust to the lower pressure and end altitude sickness.

Denver's altitude is high enough to get the oxygen depravation symptoms, but not high enough for most people to actually get full-blown altitude sickness by visiting there. In any event, if you aren't used to breathing at a mile high, you'll be puffing pretty good when you get there.

It is going to be the 4th quarter when the lower oxygen levels might start slowing our river dwellers a little.

well herald ask and you shall hear my big mouth. All I have to say is I will be at the pony lounge watching the game on the big screen in the broncos jersey. I am sooooo happy that they took their time to unleash that STUPID SONG.. It is going to be a great game. Like undercover joe said it will be the 4th quarter when the air will be thin and the fans will be going crazy (me too) and then all you will hear is Oh My God you stopped the bus. You bastards!! Final score Denver 24- Steelers 17

Steelers — 24
Broncos — 21

Shades of 1997, only in reverse ... Pittsburgh doesn't have Kordell Stewart and Denver doesn't have John Elway.
