Him - Rupert Holmes
Quite possibly the worst song ever made....

I can't top anything listed already. I 'bout pooped a little in my pants from laughing at the thought of actually playing some of these!

The only thing I can think of is stuff to put them to sleep like 3 John Denver songs in a row. Then maybe maybe put down some rockin instrumentals such as Kenny G and Yani.
.

All kinetic, no potential.

Oh, and the worst setlist would be from a band that covered nothing but Michael Bolton and Celine Dion.

The Mambo #5 guy is Lou Bega and he is from Germany. He has sold over 7 million records. Go figure. The only good band I know from Germany is The Scorpions. Hey, the Germans think David Hasselhoff is a great singer.

Anyway, the sad thing is that most of the terrible songs listed on this post were actually big top 10 hits when they were on the radio. That means lots of people thought these songs were good at one time. Just goes to show that the general public will buy anything and listen to it if they are told they should.

Set 1

Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Shake Your Booty - K.C. and the Sunshine band
One - Metallica
Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
Punk Rock Girl - The Dead Milkmen
Epic - Faith No More
For Those About To Rock - AC/DC
Blind - Korn
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

Yeah, I think I'd stay if I saw a band playing this setlist. I guess my plan bacdkfired. Hell, I'd love to try playing all of these songs back to back like this and make it work.

Me too! I'd love to find a radio station with that kind of crazy diversity, too.

The scary thing about this whole idea is that no matter what song you put on the Worst Setlist, there will always be a certain part of the audience that will want to hear it anyway. Or maybe it's a wonderful thing, because that means there are no limits.

I do love the idea of a band that played nothing but random cheeseball songs with no rhyme or reason. You could even kick it up a notch by projecting really bad movies on a screen behind you.

Billy, Don't Be A Hero - Bo Donaldson & The Haywoods
The Night Chicago Died - Paper Lace
Chick-A-Boom - Daddy Dewdrop
Afternoon Delight - The Starland Vocal Band
I Think I Love You - The Partridge Family
It's A Sunshine Day - The Brady Bunch
MacArthur Park - Richard Harris (and Donna Summer)
You're Having My Baby - Paul Anka
Honey - Bobby Goldsboro
Muskrat Love - America
In The Ghetto - Elvis Presley
You Light Up My Life - Debbie Boone
Feelings - Morris Albert

With the '60s and '70s AM Classics, it would depend upon the age of the crowd. :) Yeah, it was very bad, but it's also a part of the history of many of us very near or over the age of 40. I thought The Captain and Tenielle (sp) did "Muskrat Love". I had no idea America did it too. Ew, just considering it! Can't stand "Achy Breaky Heart" by Billy Ray Cyrus, or any kind of "dance" song for that matter ("Chicken Dance" is the sole exception!), but I will admit I liked "Party All The Time" by Eddie Murphy. :D

I like the way you think. It would be cool to just be able to switch modes seemlessly in a set like that. I can only imagine what would happen if said band attempted to write original songs as well.

"You Light up My Life" would fit well along side "Never Been to Me"

How about an all ASIA cover band set list?

The Clarion University radio station 91.7 is notorious for their schizophrenia. One day I heard "Unskinny Bop" followed by "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" followed by "Walkin' On Sunshine" Tasty!
You can put kittens in the oven, but that don't make 'em biscuits.

Yankee Rose,

The Song Muskrat Love was written in 1971 and originally recorded in 1972 by Willis Alan Ramsey under the name, Muskrat Candlelight. America changed the name of the song to Muskrat Love and had a minor hit with it reaching #67 nationally in 1973. America's version actually reached the top 10 in many areas. The Captain & Toenail (Tenille) had a #4 national hit with it in 1976.

Check out the terrbile, cheesy lyrics below.

I guess if any of us wrote such a bad song and it made us millions of dollars, we would be laughing all the way to the bank.

Song: Muskrat Candlelight
By Willis Alan Ramsey
Music and lyrics by Willis Alan Ramsey

On audio album Willis Alan Ramsey (1972)

Cover hierarchy
Muskrat Candlelight by Willis Alan Ramsey (1972)
Muskrat Love by America (1973)
Muskrat Love by Captain & Tennille (1976)

Lyrics

Muskrat, muskrat candlelight
Doin’ the town and doin’ it right
In the evenin’
It’s pretty pleasin’

Muskrat susie, muskrat sam
Do the jitterbug out in muskrat land
And they shimmy
And sammy’s so skinny

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin’ and jingin’ the jango
Floatin’ like the heavens above
It looks like muskrat love

Nibbling on bacon, chewin’ on cheese
Sammy says to susie honey, would you please be my missus?
And she say yes
With her kisses

And now he’s ticklin’ her fancy
Rubbin’ her toes
Muzzle to muzzle, now anything goes
As they wriggle, and sue starts to giggle

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin’ and jingin’ the jango
Floatin’ like the heavens above
It looks like muskrat love

La da da da da ...

Moxham123, Thank you. and BLECH! I fully remember the Captain and Tenelle version; unfortunately, I can't obliterate from my memory...nor the memory of her friggin' haircut I once had, but for America to have done it? They did "A Horse With No Name" and "Muskrat Love"? I'm thankful I never heard the latter and hope I never do! :)
