Worst Setlist Ever

Post by Banned »

Has this ever happened to you?

You are jamming out at a show, and the people near the front of the stage grab your setlist. Sometimes they just glance at it and put it back. Or they'll flip to the third set, pick out a song and tell you, "play this next, we're getting ready to leave." Or they just take it back to their table and it's gone forever.

So here's my solution, which is pretty funny. You just put a bogus setlist right up front, and hide your real setlist somewhere safe. You get some great looks on their face when they realize they've been duped!

I've been using a recycled Lovestomp setlist for this purpose recently (lots of chick-singer and disco songs). But an even funnier idea would be to put together the WORST SETLIST EVER. A setlist so odious that no band would ever really play it.

So gimme some help here. What songs would you put on the WORST SETLIST EVER? (Hair band songs excluded, cuz those are on my real setlist!)

hahaha, throw in some micheal jackson songs on the fake setlist. songs such as "black or white" and "bad" . haha.
also, listing some by 80's new wave bands like flock of seagulls would be funny.
the setlist from hell.

my idea for worst set list ever

- "I write the songs" Barry Manilow
- "Benny and the Jets" Elton John
- "Bad" by Michael Jackson
- "Holla back girl" by Gwen Stefani
- that song by Michael Bolton where he sings "How am I supposed to live without you?"
- "Walk like an Egyptian" - the bengals
- "Waterfalls" by TLC
- that "Six Pence, None the Richer song" that starts off with "Swing Swing"
- "Mambo Italiano" - Rosmarie Clooney
- the cops theme song
and a few others..

The worst setlist ever would have to just be a jumbled mish-mash of tunes that people who like one tune won't like any of the others and so on. Maybe something like this:

(Yeah, there might be some tuning issues and such, but I'm going for insanity here.)

Set 1

Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Shake Your Booty - K.C. and the Sunshine band
One - Metallica
Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
Punk Rock Girl - The Dead Milkmen
Epic - Faith No More
For Those About To Rock - AC/DC
Blind - Korn
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

Set 2

Pull Me Under - Dream Theater
Sick of You - Gwar
Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nugent
Lightning Crashes - Live
Hit Me Baby, One More Time - B. Spears
March of the Pigs - NIN
Tom Sawyer - Rush
Eye in the Sky - Alan Parsons Project
Say It Ain't So - Weezer

Set 3

Mean Machine - Sugar Ray
Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson/Alien Ant Farm
Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran
Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
Down Rodeo - Rage Against the Machine
Welcome to Paradise - Greenday
Good Mourning/Black Friday - Megadeth
Siva - Smashing Pumpkins
Babe - Styx

Dang, I tried to make the worst setlist ever and I think I kinda like it.

Anyone want to start a band?

"Seasons In The Sun" - Terry Jacks
"I've Gotta Get A Message To You" - Bee Gees
"Shannon" - Henry Gross (dead doggie!)
"Wildfire" - Michael Martin Murphey (dead horsie!)

I think I would put setlist on a metal music stand and hook it up to the box I have in my garage which shocks my dogs, when they get out of range.

Not enough juice to hurt someone but scare the $h!T out of them.
