How was your new years show?

Post by bassist4life2004 »

Hey everyone, just wanted to ask you how your new years eve show went. Falling Higher kicked some serious ass at the Bakerton Inn tonite. We started out with the new band jitters, but pounded strong through the night. There wasnt a time the whole night when the dance floor was empty. Wild Bill and matt really knew how to keep the people dancing, and of course i was right out there with them the entire night. We ended with "Talk Dirty To Me" by poison and really knocked their sox off. From now on when you see us playing as a full electric band we will be called F2H, and our acoustic shows will be Falling Higher, just so you can distinguish them.

So, let us all know how your new years eve show went, we're dyin to hear.

It was definatley a capital time at the County Line Inn. The crowd was very responsive, the sound was great (Paul "Shady" Shaffer is The Man), our light guy, Bert, had some great timing on one of the songs, and I did something naughty during one of the breaks.

That's funny though - We ended with Talk Dirty too.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

Yes, a good time at the County Line, Minus the scuffle at the end. But that was in the parking lot. Paul I am really getting tired of playing Talk dirty. can you say boring. Long live the 80's (NOT)

It was a good time at Andy's with LoneWolf and DJ Digital Impact. I even requested a hip-hop song! (My Hump, of course, heh heh heh)

I played classic and modern rock for over an hour until about 11 and it wasn't long until the dance floor was filled up. Then the owner requested that the show change over to hip-hop so gazoo17 took over (although he really wanted to play more rock).

An observation: I was amazed to see only the same 3 people dancing to hip-hop for the next 45 minutes. I am now convinced that 1) when it comes to entertainment, most club owners couldn't find their ass with their hands in their back pockets and 2) most people around here don't give a flying f about hip-hop. It wasn't until they pulled out the 90s dance music that the dance floor was full again.

After the standard midnight festivities, Bill got out the Buzzinator (a pump up bug sprayer filled with Blueberry Vodka) and buzzinated us with shots--a feature that was available the rest of the night. After awhile, Bill changed the music back to classic and 80s rock and things picked up a bit. I went on for another two song encore and had a full dance floor to jam with.

It was a pretty good time.
...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...
