The ultimate area shredders, in my opinion.

Jeff Wallack (R.I.P.)
Tom Brown
Scott B. (The Grimm)
Brad Kensinger (He's from Altoona, so he qualifies)

I hear ya Unogunner, and that is one reason I think it would be something of a learning experience to get these shredders together for a guitar bon fire.

Jay Snyder of pivot is unreal. The stuff they play doesn't really showcase his talent but i've seen him rip out some amazing shit.

Totaly agree and one hell of a stage performer marchin around on stage like he owned it! Also very cool but ugly!lol

Jay Snyder of pivot is great. How about BOTH of the Straw Brother's Chad and Jason. Scott Bush from one gun salute is sick you have to go out and see him when he gets the hair moving look out (sorry jason he has you beat). Don't forget about A.J. from stone krow.

Vic, i started this without any real time frame as to when to start the Viewer Poll.

I don't know some of these guitar players being nominated. I could use some help sorting out who are Blair co. guys. I could start a Blair Co. area poll (if I got a list of who of the mentioned players are in the Blair co. area)

Then someone who is familiar with the Cambria co. shredders could start poll for that area, and Centre Co., bedford co........

I think it would be very cool to have a shredd off some night at Aldo's or somewhere like that. i have heard there used to be guitar player shows like that (I hate to use the word contest) around here.

This is surely a biased opinion, but I have to include our lead guitarist Rod Skelley in this post. His innovative rhythms and kick-ass solos in all of our originals never cease to amaze me.

Aaron Wolf (formerly of Lucid Confusion) needs to be mentioned here. He and I spent alot of times jamming together trading licks from Jimi to Yngwie and he wails on all of them.

I've seen Mark and the Desperatos a few times and he is a great guitar player. A rocker, classic rock, some Southern rock is what I saw,. does he really play shredd leads?

i think he is from Cambria Co. If you know the guitar players from Cambria Co. who have been mentioned in this thread, could you post a list of all of them?

Yeah, a lot of the guys being mentioned are great players, but many of them are Blues-based players, not shredders.

Mark Middleton is a bad mofo though. Dynamite Monster Boogie Concert is one of my favorite albums of all time.

shredders rule!

Post by rain wolf »

(1.)DREW BENTLEY... he is not one of the best shredders in the local area... he is one of the best in the country. he has the very realistic goals of being one of the next additions to steve vai's record label, and being on the cover of guitar world within the next two years...

(2.) my little bro, aaron wolf. those of you that have heard him- you know...

i would like to also give mad props to the lead guitarist from Bad Daze, ken murdick, and punkinhead, who will be shredding in this area for years to come...

yea. mark is pretty freakin awesome too. take into consideration the fact that his band (the desparadoes) knows over 700 covers, and they can wing about anything on top of that, that's pretty impressive. also, he has been on the cover of guitar world, and he has had a VH1 'where are they now' done on his group 'raging slab.' he has also toured all 7 continents, opened up for G n R, and jammed with lenny kravitz, white zombie, and had chili peppers, and goo goo dolls open up for his old band (raging slab). and yes, he can shred when he feels like it... also, the bass player from his band, soupie, was the original bassist with Dokken... you may have heard of them too...

Some of my fave guitarists that haven't been mentioned...

Phil "Philito Jenkins" Wagner (Banditos, The Opposition) f*cking shreds, and is rarely mentioned in these threads.
Richie "Brownbag" Johnson (ex-I Enemy, The Opposition) smokes, period.
Darrell Ruzzi (Ex-Banditos) is awesome.
Rich Piccirillo, duh. One of the best shredders I've ever seen.
And Punkinhead's stuff is unbelievable. I can't believe that this guy is not playing nationally or internationally with someone.
Dood...

Someone else that has not been mentioned is Adam Kegg from Necrotomie/Mausoleum. I just listened to the first Necrotomie demo last night and Adam has that old school Slayer chaotic style down as well as being able to play melodic and in control.
He also has the most evil sounding vibrato ever.
Don't forget his rhythms shred more than most lead riffs.
I had the honor of jamming with him in a few different bands and the other thing that he brings to the table is being a genuinely honest and cool guy. IMHO.
