Happy Hurricanes Hitching Post Holiday Homecoming!

Wow, what a good time this past Sunday night at the Hitching Post. It was one of those magical occasions when the musical elements came together to produce a special night. You had the Hurricanes, playing one of few public gigs in the midst of their ongoing state prison tour; you had former Hurricanes drummer John McKnight - who was in Philadelphia the night before, jamming with The Renegades of Southern Rock (featuring former Allman Brothers guitarist "Dangerous" Dan Toler and John Hall of Wet Willie) - along with his father, Dewayne McKnight; you had harmonica ace Barney Sledge, back from Texas; and you had a packed house with a bunch of embedded Rockpagers...result: PARTY!

I'll let the pictures tell the story. It was cool for me to witness the process of discovery once again, as two friends sitting near me had never seen John McKnight in action on the drum kit until this night. The one friend, Pat, had to go shake John's hand after witnessing him for the first time.

As I said, a magical evening!
