Please Come Home For Christmas -- Eagles
Merry Christmas Baby -- Springsteen
...and it's not rock, but if you can get "O Holy Night" by the Gaither Vocal Band or specifically David Phelps, get it. I personally think he's the finest tenor on the planet, and yes, I know that's saying a lot. The song starts with a solo piano and builds to a crescendo with a full orchestra and professional choir. It'll put chills down your spine.------>JMS

"Please Come Home For Christmas" - The Eagles
"Father Christmas" - The Kinks
"I Believe In Father Christmas" - ELP
"Santa Claus And His Old Lady" - Cheech and Chong
...and the Christmas song by Skynyrd...I can't remember the title!
I realize this last one isn't "Rock", but he does the tune the in the manner it was written for and I think it's beautiful. In case anyone doesn't know, here's a mini Music History lesson...the Church's Organ was broken and "Silent Night" was written for Guitar.
"Silent Night" - John Denver
It's on "Rocky Mountain Christmas". I love the entire Album/CD - I have both. Well, I'll have both when ever I find my Albums!

"Christmas With The Devil" by Spinal Tap
A controversial tune. Here's Tap's take on it, courtesy of spinaltapfan.com:
Derek: "We’re not advocating [Satanism]. Man’s relationship with the Supreme Evil One is a very private affair. The song is just a depiction, imagining what’s happening with Satan this time of year."
Nigel: "Think about it from the devil’s point of view is all we’re saying."
Anybody have any MP3s from the Star Wars Holiday Special? That would be a hoot. Bea Arthur frickin' ROCKS. \m/

I'd love to, but if the Music Publishers' Association has their way, that could land me in jail:undercoverjoe wrote:Jingle Bell Rock
I gotta learn that guitar part. anyone know it and wanna post the tab?
Song sites face legal crackdown
So much for getting lyrics and guitar tabs online. If you aren't paying for the sheet music, you aren't allowed to have someone teach you it, I suppose. Because tab sites are mostly just that - someone picks something out by ear, and shows you their (frequently wrong) interpretation of it. Do we have to play facing the wall now, so someone can't learn the chords by watching our fingers move?

Hypothetically:
How about if you tab it out in the wrong key. Say you tab the third fret, when its really supossed to be in A. It would be the right phrasing and tempo but the notes would be off a step. It then is not technically Jingle Bell Rock, and I could learn it, and just be playing it in the wrong key. If my ear is good enough (and it is not), I might realize that your tab is off and then voila, i learn the song, you don't go to jail house rock.
